      Joleon Lescott (Manchester City)
      Dec 05, 2010 02:34:02 pm
Joleon Lescott has admitted he will look to leave Manchester City if he cannot earn more regular playing time as he believes he will soon lose his England place.

The Ā£24million signing from Everton has been behind both Vincent Kompany and Kolo Toure in the City pecking order, and has often been deployed as a left-back when he has played.

ā€œIā€™m not happy with the situation. I donā€™t enjoy sitting on the bench, and sometimes not even making the bench,ā€ he said. (Press Association)

Joleon Lescottā€™s admission he could leave Manchester City in the January transfer window has alerted Liverpool.

The former Everton player would not necessarily be the most popular move initially with the fans, but once they got over the fact that Lescott used to play for the Redsā€™ cross city rivals they would see that it makes perfect sense.

Quick, strong in the tackle and in the air, Lescottā€™s versatility would also be a fine asset.

Capable of playing both at centre back and left back, Joleon Lescott represents a fine option for Roy Hodgson, but he will have to consider what the Reds fans think first.

Not a chance I'd be happy with this.

One of the most over rated defenders in English football and I could never imagine him playing for us.

Agree with that, still wouldn't want him. Think there are others out there.

      Er no.

Not centre back or left back thanks. All he's good at is scoring from corners.

I think he's alright, 24mil was laughable. Moyes couldn't believe his luck I'm guessing.
I'd buy for 6-7mil, lets face it Carra's on his last legs, Agger is injury prone, Kyrgiakos has only one season left. We will be short at Centre Back soon, and he can only plug left back for a while

I rate him, but not at 24 mil. That was a laugh and a half. I'd pay 7 mil tops for him. The fact that he's English is the only reason he's above 5.

I don't think he's sh*t, I just think he's a tw*t. He gave the Toffees the middle finger to go chasing money and surprise surprise, Citeh kept on buying and now he's struggling to get a game.
Nobody forced you to sign that contract Joleon, grow a pair and fight for your place.

Exactly! The future. Not the present. As rightly highlighted before, Carra and the others will need replacing. Skrtel is a liability, Sotis is ok but nearing the end of his days. Only Agger to look forward to really. If he stays fit that is...

As much as I dislike him, for that price he would be a great bit of business.

When playing regularly, he is a very good defender and we would grow to like him if he got his head down and worked for the team.

As long as he took a massive wage cut.

He would sort out our problem on the left side of defence and can be used as a centre back aswell. If that is the asking price then he would be worth it. Konchesky is dire. in this position and Aurelio suffers with too many injuries. Bring back insua as back up and we could maybe start to look forward.
