If he wasn't on astronomical wages then absolutely. He may not be the player he was 5 years ago but he's still a different option for us that we don't have now.

All i'm saying is we should be focusing on the future, not adding older players to the squad. If you take in to account his wages, you could probably buy an extra player for what you would save. If he was still good enough Milan wouldn,t let him go.

AC Milan have moved a step closer to losing Brazilian Ronaldinho after president Silvio Berlusconi criticising him for not 'training as well as he can'.

It emerged last week Liverpool and Manchester City were interested in bringing him to the Barclays Premier League but Brazilian Serie A side Gremio revealed they have spoken to his representatives.

Ronaldinho, who was linked with a move to Manchester United before he landed at Barcelona, has just half a year to run on his contract at the San Siro and therefore can speak to other teams after January.

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is looking into attacking signings to complement Fernando Torres at Anfield and the 30-year-old is one of the options.

Milan today announced they have agreed to sign another Liverpool target, Antonio Cassano, and it looks likely Ronaldinho will be allowed to leave.

However, one sticking point for Liverpool will be wages because new Anfield owners NESV are unwilling to commit to big numbers for over 30s.

Manchester City, though, will have no such qualms as his current earnings of around £120,000 per week are the norm at Eastlands.

Berlusconi, after revealing his club's new signing, said: "It is a shame for Ronaldinho. At the moment, he has not been playing well or training as well as he can."

Yeah lots of interest in him in Brazil i heard. Sao Paolo, too. But i think that was just another club mentioned to big up a story about him returning to Brazil.

      Still don't want him.

I can hardly believe us or Man City are actively pursuing him. This makes no sense.

Who would have to make way to accomadate Ronaldioho? His arrival would only hold back our young players from breaking into the first team. No for me.

Nah, it would be the best experience of their lives.

They could watch and learn first hand how football can be played, it isn't all break neck pace and speed, it is ability at the end of the day, that is what makes a player great.

^ But he's never helped youth players.

Doesn't help when the youth players don't even train at the same place as the first team either.

Not the youth team players, but the young players within our 23(?) man squad.

Of course his attitude doesn't appear to be that of a teacher, but how can you not learn from a player like him, just by watching him.

I'm sure Ronny would more than love a 4 year deal at his age.

I would hope no team (especially us) would be willing to pay Milan for his services.  Everyone knows how badly they want him off of their books, especially considering they just added Cassano.  They will surely be willing to give him away just to be rid of his wages.

That being said, I'd have him here for a 6 month deal (loan if possible) to add some creativity and ability in the wide areas for us.  Last night we played Kuyt and Meireles as our outside mids?!  We need reinforcements in this area now!

What ever happened to form is temporary, class is permanent?  Can you name some younger options that we can afford?

Since when is class permanent? Everybody fades out at some point, most because their age catches up with them, others like Ronaldinho fade prematurely because their lifestyle catches up with them, he's been a shadow of his former self for many years now and he'll never return to the player he used to be.

He would do F**k all in this team anyways. He'd have to defend as part of a 4-4-2 and feed on scraps. Sounds really appealing to someone who used to conduct the Barcelona orchestra.

Not too many people are able to come back after years off form... Don't think Ronnie is one of those special players who will. There have been critisms about him being lazy for years and years, that thing doesn't follow you around if it's not true.
