He is probably looking for a quick deal, hence the reportedly high offer. Only a week left now.

His wages alone would scare teams off

Seen his wage slip have you?

Just read Wolfsburg are also after Tim Matavz, have made an offer but it was turned down. Obviously they need a striker, let's hope they'll get Jovanovic.

Give them for 3m and they have a deal. Even 2m.

I was working my way up the thread and guessing what the figure reported was but £6M!!!!!!

I would drive him there myself. Nothing against Jovanovich as he has put 100% effort in every time he has played but if McClaren is willing to pay £6M for a barely used squad player who we signed on a free then there shouldn't be any discussion.

      Sold.

I know he's not had a chance here but I wouldn't be sad at all to see him go after 6 months.

We'll have that 6m thanks Steve.

They can take him for that amount even half of it I would consider.

I still would like to see what he could do up front as a striker next to Torres.

But with babel gone now, maybe Kenny was planning on giving him a few run outs more often now

with 6m for babel and jovanovic the new owners would only need to cough up 8-10m for suarez who is miles better than both, get it sorted yanks!

I can't see a future for him at Anfield. Going to the trouble of moving his life, family etc. for just a couple of months was a bit of a waste for him. Sad.

£6m would be brilliant business for us.

Shame though since I don't think he's had enough of a chance.

He has had enough chances for me.Anyways he was a signing of the times when we were looking for free and bargain buys,we are past that stage(hopefully) and I don't think we would have been looking to sign someone like Jovanovic now.So better he moves on and free up space for Pacheco or the money could be invested in a better player.

I saw him play against Utrech, and he was our best player, but it was a poor game, i think he deserves another few months to try to prove he has it, although he is 29 now and any money for an old player is good money in my eyes.

he deserves a chance tbh. he always works hard and does have some skill when he comes on. his problem is getting his head up and playing the right pass, instead of running into blind alleys. something a bit of coaching would solve in no time.

He is simply a poor player. We should take whatever we can get for him and move on, not good enough.

This is key to me. If he had been 27 then I would say give him more time to see if he can improve under Kenny but if we get anything like a decent offer (£5m+) then I would let him go as his resale value will plummet soon.

Not seen anything from him to suggest he's the answer, plus if the bid from Wolfsburg is accurate there's no way we can turn an offer like that downm, IMO.

      Had enough chances??

If he's good enough is yet to be seen (not necessarily his fault) but he's definitely got Liverpool in his heart.. The few games we've seen of him was when the whole team was playing bad under the jurisdiction of "that guy".. Only someone Messi could have stood out as a quality player through that period.. Imo, to say he's not good enough at this stage is unfair..
