Jorge Fucile (Porto)

Anfield manager Roy Hodgson was first linked with a £7million offer for the versatile full-back, who can play on the right or left, in the summer.

Fucile has been earning excellent reviews at Porto and he also featured in five matches as Uruguay finished fourth at the 2010 World Cup finals.

Speculation is suggesting Hodgson will renew his interest in the 26-year-old in January due to concerns over the reliability of Glen Johnson and Paul Konchesky.

But Fucile is quoted as saying in the Portuguese media: "I am under contract at Porto and my focus is here."

Porto, who have reached the knockout stages of the Europa League, are not actively looking to sell, but they admit they will not instantly dismiss an approach for Fucile.

"It is not our intention to sell, but it is normal that we will study offers if they arrive," directors of the Portuguese club are credited as saying.

would like him here has had a good season @ porto, and played very well in the WC, he can easily start over Paul, and if needed play @ RB if Johnson is out

I hate Roy as much as anybody, but let's not put that as the sole reason to not want a player. While saying that I don't know much about Fucile, so I will go with what the majority says.

Can't say I've watched him often out of last world cup, but looked like an excellent player.

And considering his club is beating victorious runs record this year, probably deliver at club level too.

If he is not too overpriced, I'd take him.

Can't be worse than Konchesky, and as a replacement for him I'll give it a go. We already have Johnson and Kelly on RB so we don't need him there.
