I hope we can actually sign Torres. I think he is class. He scores some great goals for athletic madrid, and he did a fine world cup. Please sign him Rafa!. I actually hired him for my Liverpool Master League in Pro Evo. : :P

I would absolutely love it if we signed Torres, he's one of the players we're missing, a genuine top class striker. I think the Mancs are after him too and apparently have been told it will cost them £25 million, I think we really need to pip them at the post and we have the Rafa, Alonso and garcia factor to attract him. It's time we spent big on one top quality player, let's hope they get the investment sorted before January.

Welcome Davies to the forum. He does, (Torres) well apparently. Has a 25m buy-out-clause in his contract.
As I was saying few days ago, we could get rid of Cisse to Marseille or Lyon (obviously Ged would be interested) for about 12 - 14 million. Then all's we need is an excess of 11 - 13 mil to go in for Torres.
      SORTED!

Have to agree with most things Davies said, Torres is gonna be worth at least 25 - 30 million easy and the youngster they bought from argentina is also same player rafa was looking at last season, sergio arguero having watched ath madrid once or twice on the spanish footie they both look good together and have a bit of a partnership going but i can't see us spending close to 25 million on one player at the moment

Torres looks a little light weight, hes been struggling this season.Villa is a better option, more a fox in the box player like "GOD"I think samual eto would be a quality buy.

Yep there is.  They said recently that Chelsea can have him.  But the bidding starts at £100 million.

Only one club will be able to afford that kind of money ;)

I think our chances of landing Torres are higher than that of David Villa. Torres apparently linked with Man Utd again though.

Yeah both of these players would be brilliant, out of the two tho i'd go........... Torres i think he's slighty bigger so hopefully he could handle the more physical side of the prem.......

I don't think torres could delivered in the premiership, look at all the big names who signed this year in the league..who did really delivered?..no-one (tevez, ballack, ect..).

Villa would be a much more intelligent bet...

Either of these two would be a good addition to the squad, i would personally choose torres purely on what i saw during the world cup.
Both of these i feel are the players we should be taking a interset in, NOT (as report in todays media) Mascherano and Neill.
Neill is at best a steady player, and at worst Sh!te. He would be purely cover.
Mascherano - If he aint good enough to get into a West Ham side which is as poor a team as i have seen them produce for a number of years, then what the hell are we doing sniffing around him?
