FC Copenhagen are keen on him and Poulsen has been told his Denmark career will be over unless he commands regular first team football which he never will at Anfield.
Such a pity that Roy left us with a legacy of his flawed judgement but that situation looks as though it is about to be corrected.

I think Maxi should and will stay tbh. Actually is a pretty good back up/ cup player that you would not mind playing the few games. He looks like a person who brings different groups within the team together too.

We need to keep Maxi, as I've said before for team spirit as much as anything else, he gets on really well with Suarez and has helped him settle along with Lucas, he also is pretty much best friends from what I know with Aguero who we're rumoured to be intrested in and I think Maxi would be a key factor as to whether Aguero would come.

So there is a good 13 players just there, some that you would imagine would be certainties, some possibilities.

You could also possibly Agger to the list too taking into account Comolli's comments that players injuries records are taken into account as when they are often injured they are not helping the club achieve its goals, or words to that effect.

The only two I would like to keep out of that lot are Alberto and Maxi

I think we have the ability to do half and half. Bring in five or six quality first team players and promote youth from within. If you look at the list, how many of those players affect the first team right now. Ship out 11. Bring in 6. Promote 5 youth players

Yeah, but only 7 of the 13 have actually figured in the 1st team since Kenny's arrival, and I would say that Poulsen, Aurelio, Sotis, Cole, and Jova are hardly players that we will really miss...

I'd be fine with selling the whole lot bar Maxi, Ngog (purely as backup), and Aqua.  I'd even sell Agger as long as we can get a dependable, quality 1st team CB to replace him.  Then bring Aqua and Pacheco back plus about 4-5 additions (CB, LB, 2 wingers, and possibly one more).  Promote a few youth players like Flano and Robinson to be squad players, and we look like having a perfect blend of youth & experience!

I think Agger will be gone, unless he beats Captain Jack Sparrow to the fountain of youth. Such a shame, as he is such a classy player.

I think Agger will be sold only if the right offer comes in. I do not believe we will shop him around, if a team puts in an offer we can't refuse, then we should let him go.

Maxi has scored 4 goals in 2 games and now everyone say keep him. I think we would need to keep one of Cole or Maxi. Personally i would like to keep Cole but with the wages he is getting i would have to pick Mxi for squad depth.

Fair enough - I think Maxi is a better player than Cole though.

Cole has always flattered to decieve IMO, and is too selfish, plus lacks a footballing brain.

Maxi for me, has all the attributes people ascribe to cole (mistakenly IMO), and without the ego.

If it was a choice between the two I'd keep Maxi without question.

I listed in another thread who I think should leave and it's probably similar to most as they are players who we will not miss and have offered next to nothing to the team this year.

Aquilani can be added to this although I personally would like him in the squad but if he wants to stay in Italy then he should also be sold.

It's been said before we can easily lose around 10 players and not affect the quality of the squad at all. Sign five or six top quality players, along with the youth coming through and our squad next season will be much stronger than this year.

Agree, unfortunately it looks like he'll be moving on, if the right offer's put on the table.

If I have to choose between the 2 of them, then I'd also go with Maxi, even though he didn't convince me yet.

He'll be OK as a squad player, and I suspect that he's not on a ridiculous wage like Cole, whose been really pants for us. I think Cole's also past his best, for a while already.
