Kenny - the words of wisdom
      Jan 09, 2011 09:41:34 pm
Feel free to post any comments from the King's new reign.

Explaining to the media about how Henry called him whilst on holiday on his cruise ship, how it got to Bahrain and then he flew to Manchester.

Press: Just on the boat... How do you stop a cruise ship? Did you go up to the Captain and... How does it work?
KD: Well there's big brick walls isn't there. It's usually called a port.

Further to his conversation to John Henry.

Press: Where were you when you got the call, Kenny? By the pool?
KD: Like any true professional athlete, I was at the bar.

On whether he wanted to go back to managing football teams over the past decade:

KD: I've been asked a few times.  But it's not this football club.

Some pearlers, but that one there is the best. Shows exactly where his heart has and always been. Tell me any other team in the world that can have a player who signed to play for them 33 years ago come back and manage and bring together support like no one has ever seen.

      None?

      Thought so.

What a difference just his press conferences are eh?

I enjoy watching our manager now, not like the last 6 months where I had to grimace the whole way through a press meeting.

When you hear replies like that it is like listening to Bill Shankly all over again,at last we have got a manager who can beat the press at their own game. It's good to have you back Kenny.

Well in Billy.Once again we now have a Manager, who is in tune with the fans.God bless Rafa,he inherited the Shankly ethos, but in the wrong ownership era.Now we have Kenny back, with new owners,so for me,"the worlds our lobster".Don't expect it this season though, because I expect our owners,to be professional enough,to wait and analyse the requirements, before spending money.

Happy New Year Cas.Indeed Kenny is cast in the Shankly mould,so we will get the same commitment. But most refreshingly,he will truly respect the fans, something that's been lacking for the last 3 years.
      Frankly, Mr Shankly

Makes me proud to be Scottish!

I loved the one about the cruise ship but the one that's the best is 'I've been asked many times. But it's not this football club'.
