Would you be satisfied if we finish 5/6th...?

Just imagine, we're 30 May 2011.

Liverpool FC finished 6th of the EPL.
..... but we have;
-kept Gerrard, Reina, Torres, Johnson, Agger etc(our best players)
-signed 3/4 quality players during January
-been playing attractive attacking football and good results have followed.


would you be satisfied?

Yes I would, after the first half of the season we have had, I would be very happy with it.

Would I F**k. Being satisfied coming 5th or 6th is accepting we're no longer the greatest side in club football. I'm satisfied with first and first alone, anything else for this club is failure.

Anybody that wouldn't be happy with that is absolutely deluded.

This season I'd be happy but will be expecting us to be top 4 next season as a minimum

After the dour start, and first half of the season, i'd be made up.

Considering we have been threatened with relegation this season,  I would be thrilled with 5th or 6th any higher would be a bonus

Maybe for this season I can see a position at 5th or 6th as an achievement after the way we have set the team up to play under Hodgson now Kenny is back and Steve Clark is on board if we get to 5th then they both should get the chance to take on this job and aim for winning the league next season, why not, Kenny knows what it takes as does Steve Clark so I expect a better team with the same players and a few additions.

I can't say I would be happy with it, but it would a success to get there from where we are now with only 18 games
to go.

The only position I would be happy in, is one that secure Kenny long term. If he can get us to finish 5th - which wouldn't be a miracle if we put 3 or 4 games together then he would have done well.
This season is a write off, we may as well accept it

As long as it comes with positive, attractive footba, and a plan for the future to return to the apex.

Depends how much we spend this transfer window. Without spending much I think 5/6TH will be a great achievement, bring in the 3 quality players we desperately need and I will be looking/hoping for a little higher (CL SPOT).

As DLS said, would I be satisifed with 5/6th? Of course not.
If you don't aim for the top your never going to succeed.

However, after the train wreck so far realisticly thats the only position I can see us achieving.

i would definitely... but if only there is a promise that excellence is on its way next season, i love this club so much... i am done done blaming the fixture, the manager, the players and bad luck, its time for them to stop giving excuses and start doing the job... if this season is destined to go this way, then no one can stop it from happening...i just hope whatever that is happening now has its reason and karma takes its place in the future...Liverpool always.

Relatively speaking (considering our awful first half of the season), yes.

This is the best we can achieve this season. Roy ruined this year for us. Maybe uefa cup but the main thing is a decent pl spot and to convince top players to stay. Spend big and get top coach and we're in pl title race.

Satisfied? No. But because we have no hope of CL qualification, 5th or 6th is our only realistic finish this season

Exactly. This season we've been dragged down a hole by Hodgson, and it's up to Kenny to pick up the pieces. Next year and the years after that will be different, but for this year out REALISTIC target is a Europa League finish. Sad, I know, but John Henry said we'll be back good and proper after 5 years. 5 years. I'm counting.

I wouldn't be satisfied because 4th was the minimum from what I wanted but I know that the CL is almost unrealistic which is tough to take. If we did finish 5th then Kenny's done an absolutely fantastic job. We're are so cut adrift not just in the table but in terms of football from the Tottenham/Chelsea zone it's almost unreal.
