Liverpool ready to hand full back Konchesky back to Fulham

U-turn: Paul Konchesky could make a sensational return to Craven Cottage after a troubled time at Liverpool Paul Konchesky could rejoin Fulham on loan as Liverpool explore ways of offloading the unpopular full back.

Fulham have concerns over the form of Mexican Carlos Salcido and are interested in taking Konchesky back just four-and-a-half months after he moved to Anfield for £4million. A return to his old club is the 29-year-old's only option in the Barclays Premier League because he made one appearance for Fulham in August before joining Liverpool, and the rules state that players cannot represent three top-flight teams in the same season.

However, he would be eligible to leave for a Championship club on an emergency loan once the transfer window closes at the end of this month. Konchesky has struggled to settle on Merseyside and has come under fire from Liverpool fans over his performances.

Another summer signing struggling to make an impact is Joe Cole, who last night played 45 minutes for Liverpool's reserves in a 1-0 win over Manchester City in the quarter-final of the Lancashire Senior Cup.
Fulham captain Danny Murphy, meanwhile, looks set to agree a new one-year deal.  Wigan 1 Fulham 1: Johnson's late strike earns Cottagers a vital point Fulham set to complete loan deal for Manchester City's Wright-Phillips Liverpool ramp up bid to land Luis Suarez as John Henry holds talks with striker's agenLiverpool chairman Tom Werner vows to back Kenny Dalglish with transfer war chest.

This would be the only way to get him off the team is if he goes back to Fulham. So I like this idea.

There is no place for Paul in the Liverpool team for much longer. But I'd still wish him well, just sorry it was a complete disaster.

Can he move again this season..? Im sure he has to stay until the summer due to the number of moves he has had - I know the article states that you can only represent 3 top flight clubs, but does this have any impact on moving back?

The only teams he could play this year is Fulham and Liverpool. He could go back to Fulham whenever he/we want, it's legal. No problem...

He can move back as Fulham isn't a 3rd club, would love to see him go back or at least out of Melwood and Shankly Gates.

Konchesky isn't the best player in the world but has he been any worse than the rest of the squad? From what I've seen of him he's done ok - no more no less, but doesn't deserve some of the comments people are making about him. I get the impression that he's being made a scapegoat just because he was one of RH's signings. Let's not forget, we haven't won a game since he's been out of the team.....

nothing to do with being a rh signing (although yes the senile old git had a knack for buying sh*te). look at miereles, many think highly of him, he's a very good signing.

it's just that, konchesky...well he sh*te isn't he? he's an awful lb. he can't pass to save his life, he's been getting skimmed all day and he just reminds me of a bucket of sh*t being continuously pecked at by crows.

      sorry...just my opinion.

Watch his stats, in his average match he succeeds less than one third of his tackles (even ended some with 0), fails most his clearances, rarely has more than one interception, tries no more than 2 crosses per game, and has one of the worst pass completion in the team (and this even when he makes most to his half). Hardly see how it could have helped us.

      Reds field Konchesky enquiries
Skysports.com understands a number of Premier League clubs have made enquiries for Liverpool defender Paul Konchesky.

Konchesky, who only joined the Reds from Fulham in the summer, has found himself out of favour at Anfield in recent weeks and has not played since Kenny Dalglish replaced Roy Hodgson at the helm earlier this month.

Dalglish has used right-back Glen Johnson at left-back in the last two games fuelling rumours that Konchesky does not figure in his plans at Liverpool.
The defender's situation at Liverpool is believed to have alerted several Premier League rivals who are believed to have asked the Merseyside club about his availability.

However, suitors of the former Charlton and West Ham man are set to be disappointed as under Fifa regulations Konchesky is unable to play for a third club this season having already featured for Fulham and Liverpool.

But stats can be very misleading ie we haven't won a single game this season where Konchesky hasn't started. See?

The point I'm making is that he doesn't deserve the abuse he gets. PK has limited ability but hasn't looked out of place because everyone has been poor this season. Some have been worse but don't get a mention. It's not his fault he isn't of the standard we expect - blame Roy for that.

The worse part is we sent Insua on loan with a clause to make it permanent.

Even if Dalla Valle had not made it with us.

He has a greater prospect of having a higher transfer fee in sale down the road than an average, 30 year old left back who we were all against signing anyway!

Think we all did :P it was Roy's poor judgement in the first place in thinking he was Liverpool quality. Konchesky would hardly say no to Liverpool, who could.

As someone said earlier, I do feel sorry for him, no friends at the club, knew he wasent good enough, even admitted it. Never did anything bad to the club, his bi*ch of a mother did that for him.

that said, I wont be sad to see the back of him.

Woy should have been fired just for that in the first weeks he was here.
I agree, Roy made some VERY VERY bad transfers (except merieles), cant believe he sent aqualani and the argie out on loans with perminent clauses, stupid man.
As for Konch, not good enough lad, feel sorry for you, but you would be best going back to your bitter mum.

Skysports.com understands Liverpool are in advanced talks with Fulham over a possible return to Craven Cottage for Paul Konchesky.

Konchesky has dropped out of the picture at Anfield in recent weeks following the appointment of Kenny Dalglish as manager.

The left-back was brought to Merseyside from Fulham in the summer by former Cottagers boss Roy Hodgson.

However, the defender has endured a difficult time in trying to win over the Reds fans and he has not played since Dalglish replaced Hodgson earlier this month.

      Escape route

Fulham are now ready to offer Konchesky an escape route out of Anfield and a quick return to his former club by taking him on loan for the remainder of the season.

Mark Hughes is in the market for a new left-back with Mexican defender Carlos Salcido reportedly failing to settle to life in England.

A number of clubs are thought to have made enquiries to ask about Konchesky's availability, but because he has already played for Fulham and Liverpool this season, the only club he can join during this month's transfer window is the Cottagers because of Fifa regulations.

Fulham are now hoping to reach an agreement with Liverpool to sign Konchesky before the transfer window closes on Monday.

I was thinking about this last night, with Fulham being in town I thought some negotiators might have some discussions about taking him back.

Paul Konchesky heads for Anfield exit

PAUL Konchesky could end his unhappy six months at Liverpool by sealing a return to Fulham.

The 29-year-old full-back arrived at Anfield from Craven Cottage in August, but has struggled to nail down a regular place under new Reds boss Kenny Dalglish, and is now considering a move, possibly on loan, back to west London.

Konchesky reportedly held talks with Cottagers officials ahead of last night’s game between the two sides, and could finalise a switch before the closure of the transfer window on Tuesday.

Fulham are the only club able to sign the defender during this window, as FIFA regulations prevent players from featuring for three different clubs in the same season, and Konchesky has already featured for both Fulham and Liverpool in this campaign.

He could play for a third team though, if they play in a league that is run Spring-Autumn, rather than Autumn-Spring.  I'm sure old Roy has a few contacts in the Scandinavian leagues, doesn't he?

IMO...paul wasn't a bad player before joining us.
Was actually quite good in the julian dick's kind of way.
But he was never liverpool first choice left back quality and was tarnished by roy and the bullshit that came out from his family.
I hope he gets a move and resurrects his career somewhere else.
For once can we just get a deal done quickly and stop dicking about!? Loan/sell and bring in warnock. I like warnock and it would be great to have him back...he was a quality prospect for us back in the day.

-don't blame him for following any boys/mans dream of playing for liverpool
-don't blame him for the wages he was given.
-don't blame him for not being good enough to play for us.
-blame roy for not realizing the standard of players we deserve.
-don't blame us for getting pissed off.
-his family are  idiots though who clearly didn't realize the implications of their words
He is this decades playing ability equivalent of julian dicks.
He should go and hopefully for him be able to resurrect his career elsewhere off our wage structure.
He just looks so lost whenever he palys for us...he can't deal the high profile and scrutiny of evident lack of ability.
