Bore off with your Anti-Gerrard agenda. You blow this tune to much.

Giggs is a left winger, so what the F**k is your point? He has trickery and guile, Gerrard has none.

He plays in the position that is best for the team - simple as that.

gerrard has power and pace, and can whip a good ball in - beckham showed you don't need trickery and guile to play out wide.
he can get up and down the flank, and cover the full back, AND cut inside, get in the box, score goals and combine well with the FB.

If Meireles continues to play as well as he has been doing, and Gerrard can provide an added threat from the right, then the team is better off.
One of gerrards best seasons for us, with over 20 goals was when he played on the right.

Quite simply, I support Liverpool FC, and I don't give a sh*t who the player is, he plays in the position that is best for the team, or where the manager tells him to.

I have yet to watch the match, but based on Steve Hunters unbaised commentary I would have to say Meirelesh, not a pretty game but one we needed to win.

Went for Raul MOM this time.
Cleared off the line. Pressured the mistake for the goal.

Reina      7 not tested hugely but still made some smart saves and released some good ball for us to hit them on the break.

Kelly      7 a few good crosses, looked decent going forward and solid in defence
Skrtel    5 dodgy defender who acnnot be trusted. clumsy and uncertain as usual
Agger    7 held the defense together. its tough when your partner is so incompetent
Johnson 6 delivery not really good enough at times but Duff had no joy off him

Poulsen 5 offers nothing. bar one good pass he was average with a few silly fouls given away
Gerrard 6 not at his usual high standards. good interception when he got kicked in the head by Danny though

Kuyt    4 he was terrible. did he actually offer anything all game?
Meireles 7 was there to cause hassle for the goal, cleared off the line and his passing was good
Maxi    5 quiet. not involved enough. he is very frustrating

Torres 6 kept getting caught offside it was annoying. his goal should have stood though

      SUBS
Aurelio 6 defended well for the closing period
Shelvey 7 did a lot more than Kuyt anyway

I'm gonna take issue with Skrtel and Maxi, thought they both put in a good shift last night. Skrtel seemed a lot stronger than usual without the normal arms all over a defender and as for Maxi I personally thought he played well, involved in quite a lot of our passing moves and did well gatting back and winning the ball too.

      Maxi was sh*te.

Skrtel was better than usual but still made clumsy challenges resulting in frees from dangerous areas.

Missed some of the match as I was doing a radio show tonight, but had the stream up.

I thought we were a little unlucky not to win by more - sure, they pressed us hard in the last 15 mins, but if we had got the legitimate goal, we would have been a lot more comfortable.

Raul continues to impress - but wtf was the ref on? some of those challenges were well out of order.

Poulsen did OK, but we missed Lucas.

      Defense did OK.

All round, not a bad team performance, and loved the hassling and harrying that we did.

A scrappy win, but it'll do.

Ref and Linesman were F***ing poor last night, Fulham players getting away with murder and gave at least four offside decisions were two were well on side.

No he wasn't. I thought he put in a good shift from where I was sitting in the kop, always available for a pass, tried taking on the full back a couple of times in the second half before being shifted over to the right when Fabio came on. And covered for Martin and Glen whenever they went forward.

i'd agree he always makes himself available for a pass and did put in a shift, but both him and kuyt were guilty of some awful distribution. they gave the ball away on a number of occasions. it's highlighted the need for a couple of additions to the squad

I agree with Huyton here on Maxi. Though he didn't light it up, was still moving around and making himself available, really trying to get into the game we are playing under Kenny. I mean not many players last night were brilliant, but Maxi did just enough. Certainly wasn't sh*te, and i saw him just as much if not more than Stevie i reckon.

Always trying to link up a move. doesn't always work, but definitely not our worst player

I've always been impressed by the room he makes for others with his runs, which pull defenders out of position, which in turn allows Raul or another to come into the space created.

There's more to footy than taking on 3 players and having pot shots from 30 yards or doing stepovers etc.

Like Kuyt, he's not flashy, but he's very effective.

I still really want to see Cole make it as a Liverpool player.

      He needs a chance.

Cole can play there. If he cuts inside, he can be dangerous.

so why have you been complaining that we lack width ?

If you really do want Cole to make it you'd give him a chance in his preferred position.

      He's not a left winger he doesn't have the width,the pace,etc

If we play him against stoke everything will go down through the middle it will be congested we need to play as wide as possible and tear them apart.

I said when we signed and I'll say it again, Joe Cole is no left midfielder at Chelsea he played sometimes on a left of a 4-3-3. Which is completely different. If you are not playing that formation play him in a central role an absolute waste at left midfield

They were a F***ing disgrace last night! We were in the Anny Rd and some of the decisions in the first half were shocking. It's like they were doing it on purpose after all this Massey business!

Funny thing is mate, we ended up with 3 points last night where as in the past, suffering at the hand of dubious decisions from officials, we'd easily be on the end of a bad result.
