Doubt we'll see the best of him until we get wingers

Newcastle certainly didn't need wingers to get the best out of him. For what it's worth Andy scored 11 Premier League goals for Newcastle, this season.

Now I can understand, (if you haven't seen him play), the idea that; because he's a big lad he tends to feed off crosses from the wing.

It is true that out of his 11 goals, so far, 5 have been headers. The thing is tho'; only two have been scored from 'traditional' wing positions and one of those was from a corner (Joey Barton). The other three headers have come from deep, diagonal, balls - which anyone can deliver.

Of his other six goals; 4 have come from his left foot and 2 from his right.

He's a beast of a player, left, right or head; he's big, fast and strong. Welcome Andy . ...let the battering commence.  >:D

^ Agreed, and i think i mentioned his goal against us earlier as well - no need for wingers there, pure power and accuracy. He has it in his bag, just need to get it out of him in a red shirt.

Seems like it was his choice, but take this source with a pinch of salt since its talkaloadofbull.com and they are known for misquoting sometimes.

If he didnt really want to be here why sign a contract that keeps him here until the summer of 2016?

I guess the next few weeks will be telling

There is a huge difference between not wanting to leave Newcastle and your inference that he does not want to be at Liverpool

Kenny obviously didn't believe them mate or he wouldn't have signed him.

Why would he get rid of one player who didn't want to be here and bring in another, doesn't make sense.

Just be happy that for once we have come out of a transfer window stronger than we went into it.

      This.

It's his boyhood club, of course he's going to leave with a heavy heart.

We all just slated Torres for wanting to leave us and insulting the fans as he did.

And now that Carroll is gutted to leave his hometown club some still aren't happy? Can't bloody win with some people, there is a huge difference about being upset after leaving the club that made you, to not wanting to be here.

Think this guy is going to be a huge success for us.

It doesn't really matter of he wanted to stay or not.

Just because he might have rather stayed there doesn't mean he doesn't want to be here. ;)
It doesn't really matter in the end. Him wanting to stay means he had heart and loyalty for his club. I'm sure if we make him feel at home here he'll feel the same for our club. I feel he's the kind of player that could be part of our club for many years to come.

I think the fact that he's making it clear he didn't want to leave the club he's always supported shows some sense of loyalty which I think I can appreciate. I would have been worried if he had moved over and then told us that he's happy to finally play for a big club!! He would then have joined the ranks of other mercernaries we all know well!

      but

HE HANDED A F***ing TRANSFER REQUEST IN

Stop believing everything you read.  Especially in the Mirror who yesterday say a helicopter was at Melwood and flew Torres away.

Thank you! sense prevails. What hes probably meant, if anything was said was is he would have been happy staying as hes a Geordie and loves his hometown club, but the club wouldnt want to look like they just flogged him and thus make him put the transfer request in.
