Am I the only one that, now the dust has really settled on him leaving us, wouldn't mind seeing him hit a bit of form and the old Torres show himself for a while?

Me too. Have always had a soft spot for him.

Every time I saw him in a chav shirt he looked unhappy, as if he didn't want to be there. Perhaps the poor attitude and lack of motivation explained his poor form there.
Wouldn't mind him doing well at his boyhood's club. Would be sweet for him to score a hattrick and kick the chavs out of the tournament. Loved scoring against them didn't he  ;D

No you're not the only one. I've been as big a detractor of Torres since he left us unceremoniously 4 years ago, but as RedLFCBlood said, I would never begrudge him the chance to shine again at his original club.

      This.
It would be churlish to cling to any reservation about Torres, hate to be called bitter.
Good on him if he found his niche with his boyhood club, wish him well.

I would like to see Torres score a few goals now, as no matter how many he bags he'll still be seen as a flop after leaving Liverpool.

I wish him well at Athletico.  Can't help but wonder what a squad including Torres, Suarez, Sturridge, Sterling could be like.

Still, the exciting prospect is that there is another Torres out there - over to you scouting department.
I would scour the world for this club.  I just hope the scouts have as much passion for the club as we the fans do!

Hahaha he's left Chelsea now, so can only wish him well especially as he's going home as the prodigal son, think Simeone is a boss manager, so hope Nando get's a bit of success there.

I think it would be fitting for him to rediscover the form he showed here that we robbed the Atletico fans of seeing week in and week out, yes he was a good striker at Atletico, but he moved up a level or two at his best for us.

Only cos he had a team built around his style.

Think Rafa and Valero played a crucial part in it too, can remember Torres saying Rafa studied opposition defenders to see which way they were uncomfortable being drawn into etc and Valero studied keepers to see if they keeper was prone to going to ground etc etc and these were relayed to and worked on with Torres in training prior to the match.

Valero has been praised by former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres as one of the biggest reasons for his goals. Torres stated that during training, Valero instructs the players on how goalkeepers in future games react to one-on-one situations.

Would be good if Achterberg could do the same with our players.

Looks like we're going to see him don our colours again if it's true about a testimonial match for Gerrard.

Be good to hear some of the songs of old (player wise) reverberating around anfield once again.

As it's a testimonial, he may actually score.

I try not to be a resentful person, and now that he's back at Atletico I really don't have any ill will towards him, but I can't help but chuckle about this....  :)

8 goals in last 13 games. Nando seems to be hitting his stride.

Had a solid season for Atleti. Good luck to him.

The sleepless nights thinking about how close we came to having torres and Suarez together.....
Yes, Fernando was playing poorly and was a tad injury racked but still, if there had been a chance to get him to stay, get fit and be with Luis would have been a dream to me.
Obviously it would have curtailed studge but just for what it could have been...wow
Reminds me of how excited I was when we signed mark Walters from Rangers.
I honestly believed that a team with him on one side and Barnes on the other would have been great....but then reality set in and mark showed he actually wasn't that good. Agh!!!!

Carrying on from that, we could have had

                              Torres
      Suarez            Coutinho            Sturridge
                 Alonso/Mascher  Gerrard
Riise     Agger           Carra/Skrtel    Johnson(Alves if we'd bought him!)
                             Reina

      That is some team.

Unfortunately by the days of Suarez and Coutinho, Riise was long past it and Alonso/Masch were already long gone.
