Be like Torres, except don’t walk out on the club for the Chavs.

The grass isn’t always greener, Torres certainly found that one out.

I know 7KK7 - was merely articulating why ol’ Danster gets hot and bothered for Torres but resents our current no.9........

Is that what he was on about?  :lmao: Weird.

Am I not supposed to appreciate Torres who was a class player? At least you could rely on him to score goals, unlike our current no. 9.   ;)

I always remember his debut for us and the Old Trafford game he ate CB's for fun.
He has said he would one day spill the beans on what happened but its all water under the bridge now his career is over and our new era is just about to start.

      He did spill the beans.

      Yep

I mean Torres was good til he screwed us when we needed him but it's odd that he can't see the merit of Bobby even though Torres best season was 33 goals and now Bobbys best (and his first real as a true no.9) is 27 (so far) and he does far more for the team than Torres ever did other than being a no.9

Indeed. I was gonna post something on those lines but he’s just 🎣

The fact that he comes over as completely f***in’ tonto is neither here nor there......

      Loved Torres.

Goals that always stuck out for me was dancing through the box Marseille away and Arsenal turn n shoot champs league game.

There was something special about his shooting technique, can’t put my finger on it but it just looked fantastic.

I genuinely cried like a baby when he left, similar feeling when’s Alonso went too.

Along with the goal vs Blackburn.

Was gutted when Alonso left, Torres I was pissed about because of how he went about it and the fact he was playing like he just couldn't give a sh*t about the team.

Yeah he was like a F***ing baby. Kind of glad that his form never returned for anyone else. F***ing won the champions league with Chelsea though which pissed me off

Then again it could be worse, could be talking about Sturridge and how Klopp has mistreated him.

His work rates better, that's for damn sure.

Both have their qualities but for me, the Firmino of now or the Torres of 10 years ago at his best, I'd take Firmino. He has provided a similar amount of goals but set up plenty more, as well as putting in Kuyt like effort all over the pitch, he's a managers dream player IMO; Goals, assists, defending, work rate, rarely injured and good discipline. It's like all era's of players though, it's difficult to compare, we are just lucky that we are the ones who have gotten the best out of both.

Torres benefited a lot from having Steven Gerrard and Alonso. Especially Stevie

      Better player, too F***ing right!!

Sometimes you need to be in the ground to appreciate Bobby's whole game, his movement and the way he hunt's down players to win the ball back is on another level to Torres.

Torres would be the better goal scorer, but Bobby is a better all round player.

Even on his worst day Firmino is a better footballer.

Don't get me wrong for a period of a couple of seasons Torres was devastating and almost unstoppable but as a pure footballer Bobbie is far superior.

Torres at his best was a better instinctive finisher than Bobby will ever be.

But as an all round player Bobby is easily the superior footballer.

I see the Firmino delusion is going strong.

Probably better than Suarez too huh? But anyways..

Happy for Torres. Hated it when he left, but time has healed the hurt, and now I'm happy to see him do well. Those two goals were a great finale for him.
