I was devastated when he left and refused to speak his name, however time has mellowed me and I welcome the chance to see him in a Liverpool shirt again. I hope we welcome him back with a huge ovation and prove we’re not bitter like our Blue neighbours!
He was a fantastic player for us, time to forgive and forget.

I agree, everyone can make a mistake and at the time he left we were quite an average team not really going anywhere, in hindsight I imagine he wishes he had stuck around a while longer.

Already happened! He's already played in one of those legends friendly games at Anfield and got a good applause.

Yep has definitely played in one of them games before. Kop even sang his song.
Might have been two seasons ago, then Owen returned last year for the Milan friendly.

Phenomenal player. Awesome in the truest sense of the word!

We hated him at the time because we believed the player of our minds and that we had seen through our own eyes was leaving for Chelsea. As it turned out only a pale shadow of his Liverpool self was on show so I think that's the reason why many people are quite eager to forgive him. If he was banging goals left right and centre for Chelsea with the form of his days in a red shirt then he probably wouldn't be appearing in this charity match!

      But 2007-2009 Torres. Wow!

No wonder he says Stevie is the best player he played with.

      G&T together were dynamite!

Awesome indeed. For a spell of about a couple of years he was probably the best striker in World Football.

I was truly gutted when I heard the news he was leaving and probably the last player I really got attached too.

Yeah and a fine player to be attached to. Harder to think of a finer sight in football than seeing him in full flow. We didn't win anything in 07-09 but I sure as hell enjoyed a lot from that period. A time when we could revel in world class talents like Torres, Gerrard and Alonso. Carra and Reina at the back as well. I even adored the supporting cast like Benayoun (especially that late winning goal against Fulham in 2009). Skrtel and N'Gog...less so!

Holy crap, he went from El Niño to El Swolo

He's certainly bulked up a bit hasn't he, I'll always remember his goals though, what a superb striker he was.

Yes lovely. Time is a healer and I hope both men feel welcome back here any time. Suarez went on to great things after us but I'd say both men hit their collextive primes with the club and gave us some amazing memories even though it was a hard time on the silverware front.

Size of Torres these days, no one's knocking him back.

Still the last player that really was a kick in the guts when he left for me.

Ever since of they want to go I don't give a second thought but Torres struck hard.
