, I was joking by the way. It was a wonderful hit and pretty much out of the blue but there have been better in the many years I've watched Liverpool.

Aside from the obvious like Gerrard's v Olympiakos and the CL Final my favourite goal from probably my favourite match was Alonso's 1st in that absolutely amazing FA cup tie against Luton in 2006. I was recovering from some severe pneumonia and that match made me feel on top of the world again. In fact Liverpool's fantastic form across that Christmas period really helped me but that match and that 1st goal by Xabi was just an absolute tonic.

Sorry to be obvious and sorry if I am meant to put a vid on but Ste G Olympiakos 2004. I swear to F***ing God I get goose pimples everytime I see it still. Believed in what was eventually to happen from that day on and remember believing from then so that's why it sticks for me.

I think that Yossi one at the top is the one that made me nearly hit the ceiling more than any other. The fact we'd twatted them all game and just couldn't score made made it feel like it just wasn't going to happen. And when it did, it felt like we'd go on to win the league.

Babel's against Arsenal in the champions league. The game kept going either way with each goal. For a while we defended our lead, and Walcott went on that mad run to set Adebayor up which left us heading out. Babel then won us a pen instantly at the other end which Gerrard converted. And as we were defending those last few minutes, Kuyt cleared to Babel while Arsenal only had Cesc back...

Another one from Babel coincidently. Man U at home, 2008. They lead through a well taken Tevez goal, but we equalised shortly after when Riera forced Wes Brown into an own goal. And then with 15 minutes left, Babel cashed my bet (2-1 babel last goal) and won me a few hundred quid ...

The last season played well in the champions league, we were, without a doubt in my mind, the best team in the competion so far after breezing through the group and dismantling Real Madrid with a 5-0 aggregate win. Then we started off well in the quarters against Chelsea, went 1-0 up, but after 3 lapses of concentration in defence ( including 2 Ivanovic goals) , we went to Stamford Bridge needing to score 3 and started off like this...

a) it was my first visit to anfield
b) the scenario of us needing to get 3 goals back and leaving it so late
c) we then went on to win it for the 5th time

Igor Biscan against Fulham. F***ing belter and the fact that Igor didn't know what to do after he'd placed it into the top corner just rounded the goal even better. Just stood there with an embarrassed smile on his face.

loved that goal, went wild when that went in, was even better because some mancs who lived across was watching it with a crowd of us.

My favourite would be Babel's torpedo againtst Lyon in 2009. Shame we've conceded in the 90th minute and ended third in the group.

Remember when I was little and one of my uncles came up from Bootle to visit and he brought with him the "Fowlers Hot 100" video for my birthday... I still have it at home at my parents but it is so worn out I don't think it'll play.

I loved these times!

Hate to mention his name but Michael Owens winner against arsenal in the 2001 FA cup final. I was 12-13, at Cardiff, and i burst into floods of tears with happiness, I remember a little lad about 5-6 years old asking if I was okay i was crying that much haha

Other great goals:  Garcias strike against Juventus, what a belt, great technique, great goal.

Riises rocket free kick against the mancs at home, the kop were on their feet singing his name repeatedly for around twenty minutes after that, it was fantastic.

Gary macs winner against the blueshite, again, i was around 12-13, at goodison, and going absolutely mental with another 2,000 reds was brilliant.

The winner has to go to gerrards strike against Olympiakos though, everything about it was perfect, as soon as he hit it you new it was going in, you knew it was winning the game, you knew we were through to the knock out stages, gerrards celebration running to the kop, the kop going absolutely mental, absolutely unbelieveable.
