A cracking game, really surprised by PSV who decided that having a similar kit to Stoke meant they shoud start playing like them.
That's actually what their current capabilities are mate, it just shows that much more against a team like Ajax. PSV's defense is dire, defensively but even more so in build up play. And Ajax are a team that put early pressure on the opponent's half, put pressure on PSV"s defense, so PSV made errors in build up and resorted to hoofing. It's been PSV's weakness all season, even lesser teams caught onto that, that when they started pressuring PSV early and more agressive they started messing up.
PSV's been heavily criticsed for it in my country all season too. They were seen as number 1 favourites for the title at the start of the season, after heavily investing a year ago, and now this season signing Advocaat as their manager and Van Bommel coming back. And they needed to win the title too from a financial point of view. It's their 100th anniversary this season, and they needed CL football again next season to cover their finances. Their policy is quite bad, they've been saved by a government loan 2 years ago, and they heavily invested into players again, idiots. Meanwhile Ajax, and Feyenoord also, have been cutting in their teams and relying more on youth, and it pays off.
So PSV seems to be fu**ed. Advocaat is expected to leave after this season, so is Van Bommel. Players like Strootman and Mertens want to leave this summer, They're not going to be any better next season.
