      Reds chasing Napoli striker?

Italian newspaper Leggo are reporting that Liverpool are chasing Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi.

It states that the Italian club fear a bid from the Reds at the end of the season.

The Argentine has been on good form this season, helping Napoli to second in Serie A, and has scored seven goals in 26 games.

The 25-year-old forward is currently earning less that €2million a year, according to Leggo, and Liverpool are willing to give the player a salary bettering that by €1million if he joins the Merseyside club in the summer.

That'd surely see us move to a 4-3-3 if true.

Lavezzi on the left, Suarez on the right and Carroll tying it all together.

      F***ing brilliant.

From the little I have seen of him (the two games against Liverpool) he is a tireless worker with quite a lot of strength about him. Good with the ball at his feet and likes to run at defenders. My worry is with Suarez on the right, and Levezzi on the left, who is going to be crossing quality balls in for Carroll.

IMO we now need an out and out winger, and not LF's and RF's to make use of Carrolls aeriel prowess.

      This^^^^^

Lavezzi would be a top player on the left but we do need width.

7 in 26 doesnt seem very prolific. Is he an out and out striker or would we use him wide or off Carroll?

He's not the main man. He's Cavani's foil (who has 17 goals this season i think?) and is kind of like the deeper forward playing to Cavani's strengths. He has 10 assists.

Him and Mauro Zárate are 2 Argentine players who I always saw as very underrated. In fact, they're quite unlucky too, considering they were born in a country that already have the likes of Messi, Aguero, Higuain and Milito upfront, which limits their opportunities to play for their country.

I was a bigger fan of Zárate to be honest, but after his fascist gestures to the Lazio fans (God, I hate Lazio), I would never welcome such a player at Anfield. So yes, give me Lavezzi and I'll be happy.

He got linked at the start of summer 2009 and everyone on here panned him.

From what I've seen of him I'm impressed.

He plays like a mixture between David Silva and Tevez, head down and the ball very close to his feet.

I'd have no problem with him here. Would definitely signal 4-3-3 as our main system.

Even if we do need width, We have Johnson coming forward alot and even Kelly gets crosses in, so I think he would be an awesome player for us.

Crouchi is our Italian Dexter. Watches a good amount of Serie A. I'd take his word.

It's one thing to watch the games, it's another to actually live in the country and to know fans of the club who's players we're after.

Oh and if crouch is from Italy then I'll look like a right retard.

He's a very good player, Very similar to Suarez from what I've seen of him.

Dexter having good resources helps when we are wondering about bids and such.

Has nothing to do with evaluating players. Crouchi watches enough Italian football to evaluate the players without a question. He just doesn't have the Italian resources like Dexter has Dutch resources.

From what I have seen of him he can get lost out wide and then struggles to make an impact on the game. I would personally pass on him, think there is better out there. Eg. Hazard, Mata and Piatti.

And no, i'm not Italian :D
