Hope this is true, I've read prices from £6-8 million, which isn't too bad.

It would certainly fill a problem position for us, we wouldn't even necessarily have to buy a back up either since Johnson looks capable of filling in there from time to time.

And it should leave plenty of readies for bringing in one or two excellent wingers instead of spreading our cash too thin.

Coentrao is still the ideal signing for me, but if the price tags are true in that link. I would go for Enrique and use our money on other positions.

Just heard this, although I think the £15 million being quoted is a bit steep. What we trying to do, keep Newcastle afloat!!

I rate Enrique. I suggested him before we were linked. He's quality. Got a decent cross with him and defensively is excellent. More then happy with him. Although 15 million is very steep price. I'm sure the figures are just guess work.

Be happy with this, if Baines deal was a no go this lad would be next on my list.

Wonder if anything regarding Enrique was agreed in January as part of the Caroll deal.

Seems strange for Thmpson to claim the deal has already been agreed midway through the second half of the season..

I think Molby said something along these lines as well around a month ago. Would prefer if the fee was closer to £10 million than £15 million. Even £13 million doesn't sound as much.

Well one advantage he has over the likes of Coentrao + Cissokho is that he has proven PL experience. The price is the biggest worry really.
