He has been given the number 35 and has been named in the first team squad for the Europa League game against Sparta Prague on Thursday.

      Congratulations lad!

Well done Conor.  Another one who deserves this opportunity.

Be great for them all to gain some European experiece even if it is only from the bench.

Excited for this kid maybe a little more so than Sterling. Him and Suso in the midfield of the future? :)

Still don't know where he's meant to play! Always thought he was a CB but noticed he's been in midfield. Can anyone who's watched more of our youth lads tell me what qualities they think Coady has to fit either of those positions?

From his player profile on the Offal mate.

Conor has represented England at various levels and captained his country to their first ever European U17 Championship in the summer of 2010.

The second year scholar can play at centre back or in central midfield and made his mark on the reserve team at the end of the 2009-10 campaign, having skippered the U18s throughout the season.

A composed figure in possession, Coady is also regarded as a player with great leadership skills and helped the second string to a senior cup double in the summer of 2010.

Well in for making the bench tonight!

Wonder if he'll get a little run out towards the end?

      Think he's something like Rodwell.

Yeah but Rodwell is a far better player IMO.

Has almost 2 years on Coady. Rodwell certainly looks the part but Coady has wonderful potential and has a future with the club. He's a born leader and extremely confident. I can't wait to see him get his crack in the future.

I meant that Rodwell will become the better player when they both are both at there best.

Knowing how confident and how hard Coady works, I won't put anything past the lad. He's got bags of potential and will do a job for us in the future.

Would love to even see the lad dropped into the midfield before the season is out. Play him back in Lucas position as a ball winner. He'd be just fine.

Think it might be something to do with the performance against Utd, thought Utds midfield was well on top. Didn't think he was particularly good against them

I wasn't that impressed to be honest, thought Utds centre midfield pairing were well on top
