What I loved about Flanno in terms of play style was that he was very composed and a good passer in tight spaces, rarely did I see him panic when on the ball. That's a huge testament to Spanish youth coaches we had before with them working on the technical aspect more.

Can't wait to see him return, and I hope it'll be tonight :D

Let's give him time to get back to full fitness before piling pressure on the lad.  He's missed so much playing time at a vital time in his development, I don't expect him to be anything like his past performances until the summer.

Great to have him back but it's very early days.

Is right. Hopefully he shows enough to get a new contract.

He just signed a new contract like 9 months ago.

Thought he looked much sharper than I expected, could of course be adrenaline but he was up and down the pitch knocking passes in with just the right weight so the receiving player can actually use the pace to do something.

Had one fluffed clearance that could have cost us but read the cross well and his positioning seemed spot on.

Very encouraging, was brilliant to see him in Liverpool Red again,

      welcome back Flanno!!

Yes but unfortunately it was only a 1 year contract, expires in the summer.

Then as you say; here is to him showing enough to get a new one.....I think Jon is the kind of player that Klopp wants on his team....hopefully physically he still has it.

If Mignolet can somehow earn a 5 year deal then this lad should be here until he chooses to retire :D

Great to see the lad back, lovely reception. Lets hope he stays fit and him and Clyne can push each other on.

Really good performance welcome back Flanno.

Though on the flipside, when he last played, there was Suarez, Sterling, Sturridge and Gerrard in the team.   :o

He was barely on the pitch and played a lovely ball into Benteke . got forward and harassed . Fair play to him .

Can push Moreno as well, adept at playing left back too is Flanno!

Yes agreed mate, with those 3 and Smith the full back positions look in a healthy position atm.

Can't wait to see Flanno back and raring to go. Could EASILY displace both Clyne and Moreno. The new heart and soul of LFC and the epitome of hard working. Get in there lad!

No he couldn't. People forget that in 13/14 he was subbed at halftime multiple times and was dribbled past a ridiculous number of times. He's a decent player, but he's no where near Clyne or Moreno. It's good to have him back and he's a handy enough option to have in the squad to give Clyne and Moreno rests.

Agree with this 100%.  The obsession with Flanagan is very bizarre.  He's not a bad player by any means but some people are making it seem like we're getting Messi back from injury or something.  He's just a good player.  He had some great performances in 13/14 but also had some terrible ones.  He's also gotten some really stupid red cards over the years and made some really stupid mistakes as well.  At Blackburn a few years back, for example, he made a really daft back pass to the keeper and Doni ended up getting sent off because of it:

Flanagan is not the Messiah, sorry.

He's definitely not better than Clyne.  He may be better than Moreno but that's not really saying much like.

Rightly so, 105 mins on his 2nd game back from 20 months and he was one of our best players for most of that. Started to worry he might get sent off through a tired challenge and it was probably that reason why he was subbed.

Welcome back Flanno, brilliant tonight lad.
