Kelly and Soto were great tonight. Jay did well for us when he came on. Carroll and Gerrard in that team and we'll start putting them away. Kelly's injury is only a nick. Dagger has ice on his knee. Big Soto looks well with the but according to Kenny

I personally think youre being a bit harsh, I thought he was one of the better players considering ngog and poulsen were on the pitch. if you watch him he tracks back well and on another day he could have got at least 2 goals

I don't think I can satisfy with this level of performance from Joe Cole, a player we signed in as 'someone we hope to make big impact to our team', you should consider his wage too. On the other hand I don't think I want to blame Ngog or Poulsen too much, Ngog is who ?, he's only a RESERVE player, never get a run of games if our first team striker can play. We should ask ourselves are we just blame a player for fun ?. And for Poulsen I just think he should not include in the squad.

      Difference between Ngog and Kuyt
Kuyt can have a crap game but still score and win us the match.
      Ngog just has crap games.

Its a cup tie .....all that matters is the score. We won the game and go through.

I thought Kuyt, N'gog, Cole and Poulsen all struggled and in truth are probably not good enough if we want to challenge next season. Great goal by Kuyt though, you can knock him but like a weeble he keeps bouncing back :)

Not one of our best European nights tonight, but we've got what we wanted.
Must say that I really enjoyed Steve's reactions from the stands, all though I like his reactions on the field much more :)

For now I give Cole a bit of a pass because he's just not fit. In a couple of weeks I'll decide my opinion on him.

As for Ngog, my problem is not so much with him, because he is not first team quality and we all know that. I just don't understand why we aren't trying other options given how awful he's been lately. We have some young strikers who would kill for a shot and they are sitting on the bench while Ngog stinks it up. I don't get it.

Having only seen the last 10 minutes of the match i'm not in a good position to comment on individual performances but i'm just glad we made it through to the next stage.

Noticed we picked up quite a few injuries and i hope they're not too serious. We need everyone to be fully fit for the remainder of the season.

Anyway bring on the next team.

On a better note we played sh*te but got a win which was a positive thing
Dirk ran out his soul and he deserved that goal
Pepe was slight and didnt have a save all night
Soto at the back looked a threat in attack
Cole oh cole would have been better in the hole
Lucas ran up a lot of mucas
      and Ngog was S H I T

Player performances aside, the big worry now is more injuries.  Hope Kelly and Agger will be ok.

Saying that, at least we attacked with purpose tonight, even with very little end product.  Feel sorry for N'gog, he really isn't cutting it.  Won a few free kicks in decent positions but awful in front of goal.
Kuyt ran his legs off again, and came up with the crucial goal.
90 minutes more game time for Cole, hope it helps to make a difference for him, wasn't awful but wasn't good either.
Kelly was great once again for the time he was on.
And Sotis gave his all, well played both of them!
Raul looked class, and got stuck in a bit, good to see that.
Poulsen back to his worst, really poor tonight.
Thought Lucas was ok, had to cover a lot for Poulsen but managed to have a decent effort on goal.  Would love to see him
      doing more of that.
Wilson did ok, seems hesitant at going forward but then I guess he is a CB and only filling in at LB.
Agger classy as usual, hope he's ok.
Pepe had a couple of errors but mainly did what he had to do well.
Carra was solid and Skrtel wasn't on long enough to do anything much.

All in, delighted we're through.  Nervy game because we brought a 0-0 to start with, but we created a good number of chances.

Crowd sounded good tonight as well, second half especially.

      Well in lads!

I would say that was Poulson's worst game in a Red shirt, although there has been so many it's hard to be sure.
N'Gog, for all his hard work, just doesn't have what it takes.
Weak starting line up, weak bench, but a win is a win. I'm happy.

Whats all this crap about Celtic and Rangers on here?
This is about tonights match FFS!

Have to eat my words. Called Kuyt a squad player. MotM for me.

Poulsen.  Why didnt he go as fast as Babel?  Useless. Absolutely useless.

Won the game ......clean sheet......could get to the Final and it would be a bonus for the club after a difficult season.

      Hope Agger comes thru OK.

Sparta proved they were a tough nut to crack.
