2011 Hillsborough Memorial Service

I've started a new topic for this years service.

 Has anyone got any news  what date it will be on as I've heard nothing about it yet.
For the past 2 years I've been meaning to come down for it but with work I couldn't make it, I will be down this year for the first time pay my respects to the 96 YNWA.

Its always on the 15th mate. If there's a game on, they usually postpone kick-off till after 3.06pm to mark the occasion then have the service on the Sunday if I'm not mistaken.

If a game is penciled in to be played on the 15th it gets moved to a later date Smiggs. We don't play on the 15th of April, haven't done since the disaster. We were meant to play a European game on the 15th a few years back but we told UEFA we couldn't.

As far as I know we have never played a game on the 15th since.

I really thought we had, Blackburn away seems to be in my mind    Maybe I'm just mistaken.

I now can Remember we had a midweek euro match and we asked to change the home leg to the Thursday .

I can now Remember we had a champions leauge match when the draw was made liverpool football club asked to either play the day before and 3 seasons ago Blackburn home got moved to the Sunday.

Back in 2008/2009, the second leg against Chelsea in the Champions League Quarter Finals was moved to 14th so the service could take place the next day.

Just got the 15th off so need to book train tickets does anyone know what time It will start I imagen about 2 , 2.30 just going to get first train at 6am gets in for 10am . To make sure am down .

Usually starts about two, think the gates open bout 1ish. Usually it's only the Kop that's open but the last few years the Kemlyn has been open to because there's that many people wanting to go.

Last year was a ticket affair so you might need to keep that in mind and make sure you have a ticket (free of charge). Last year they had some tickets left on the gate. Not sure if they're doing the tickets again this year though.

And the HJC Shop is open till about half 1 on the day. So you can always pop in there and held the cause.

Liverpool Football Club would like to make the following announcement regarding the 22nd Hillsborough Memorial Service.

The Hillsborough Memorial Service will take place at Anfield on Friday 15th April 2011.

The service will commence at 2.45pm prompt, however access to the Stadium will be available from 1pm.

In the interests of safety, we ask all those wishing to attend the Memorial Service to please obtain a ticket in advance.

There will be 10,000 Kop Grandstand tickets available from Monday 28th March 2011. However, the Club will closely monitor demand to see if additional seating will be required and advertise accordingly.

The tickets can be obtained free of charge by phoning the Ticket Office on 0843 170 5555, (Overseas (0044 151 907 9399), by postal application to Liverpool Football Club Ticket Office, PO Box 204, Liverpool, L69 3JF or by visiting the Ticket Office in person.

Should you require wheelchair access then please advise accordingly when making your application.

Please note there will be a restriction of 4 tickets per application, but the Club will be sensitive in exceptional cases to requests for larger numbers.

Liverpool Football Club welcomes all attendees, however please note no prams or pushchairs will under any circumstances be allowed into the Stadium. The Club asks you to please keep this in mind if you are bringing young children to the service and further requests that everyone arrives early as the service will start promptly at 2.45 pm.

It was all ticket last year, a good thing after what happened the year before.

I will be there again this year.

Will do my very best.  Been to most of these services, would hate to miss one.

Friday 15th is the day we find out who's won the contracts in work, but no doubt the rumours will be flying around days before this.

Will play it by ear, but hopefully I'll be there to pay my respects.  JFT96.

Every year while studying for exams around that time, I take a day off uni and go into 'Liverpool mood' all day and watch the service and videos and whatnot.
