3-0 up now for the toon. Great start for Allardyce against his old club, and poor Sammy - first for the chop?

Yeah, feel sorry for Sammy - probably the hardest fixture they could have started with considering Bolton are facing their old manager, who knows everything there is to know about nearly every player Bolton have. Can't afford to concede another goal Bolton...

Apparently Tightarse Bramble gifted all goal to bluesh*tes? Typical!  ::)

At least one of the big boys slipped up opening weekend - at home to 10 man Reading! After spending all that money too!

      Some more bad news....

Wayne Rooney lasted only 45 minutes of the new Premier League season after injuring his foot in Manchester United's goalless draw with Reading.

Reading defender Michael Duberry accidentally landed on the 21-year-old's foot in the 37th minute and the striker now faces a scan.

Rooney received treatment on the pitch but hobbled off, bootless, at the interval to be replaced by Nani.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: "We will have to see what a scan tells us."

Ferguson added: "It was a painful blow and Wayne could not really stand on his foot. I do not think it is as serious an injury as when he broke his metatarsal.

"But his foot did start to swell and it was not worth starting him in the second half."

Actually only just noticed but United have a really tough start to the season (apart from today)
