Growing your own fruit and vegetables
      Mar 23, 2011 09:37:08 pm
Couldn't fnd a thread for this.

Does anyone here grow their own fruit and veg? I've planted a load of seeds in pots for bell peppers and chillies and got them on my window sill covered with cling film. Got my first little sproutling of a shoot today. Chuffed to bits. I've named him Jez.

Thinking I might grow some spuds aswell.

Well done Gow mate yes always grow my own got my greenhouse to keep me busy , got all my tomato plants up and running also got a few chillies and peppers , dont water them to much until they sprout a bit , little bit to damp them down when you first set them and then thats it, good luck with them , let me know how you get on.

Only thing I've ever grown was a few pots of cannabis back in my wilder days.

Yeah it's gonna be good seeing how they come on Andy. I've been coming home every day checking them. I guessed wth the sun today that might prompt something, and I'm not kidding...from the tiny little shoot I noticed at teatime til now it's grown about 5 milimetres already! This time next week it'll be about 100 feet tall at this rate!

      And Daz...is your lad ripening?

Gow if they are coming up you will have to raise the cling film up so as not to damage the seedling.

Yeah I know that mate. He's only a tiddler though at the moment so he'll be OK covered a bit longer to soak up some more warmth while some of the others (hopefully) germinate.

Nah Gow he's just pulling a funny face dribbling all over his own shoulder as he tries to chew it off. ;)

I live in an apartment so it's a hard thing to do :P

But I'd love to do it if I ever live in a house, as being a vegetarian, that would be very pleasant indeed.
