Was doing a run through of films I hadn't seen and felt I must in recent days and this was one of the films. I heard/read someone call it a full on sensory experience and it is absolutely that - excellent stuff. Danny Boyle's most technically impressive film.
Another film I watched in that bucket list was Local Hero. My dad and my brother abide by its greatness and after a further bit of prompting I finally caved. I absolutely adored it and I can see why so many have taken it to heart as one of their favourites. Mark Knopfler's score must be amongst the most beautiful and fitting put to a big screen feature. Subtle, melancholy and heartfelt - just like the film. Struggle to think of a more perfect alignment of picture and score.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Y-FmsKz-fU
