I still find it a bit embarrassing that a part of my beloved club was given to a basketball player for his image rights

I don't believe he only got 1% when he earned $30 million in endorsements last year,

You might be right but I can not see this man making any effort to sell LFC for 1%

      Believe me, it's 1%.

Think about it, 1% of our annual profits go to him, which could be anywhere up to £2-4m over the course of say, 3 or 4 years. For wearing a t-shirt and coming to a few games?

      I wouldn't say no.

I wish we made a profit of £200 million profit but the figure is closer to £30 million.

Whatever the figure is FSG have said all profit will be reinvested,

So Lebron will only make money when he sells his shares, over the next five years in endorsements alone he could make roughly half what FSG paid for LFC.

If I was him I would want more than 1%

Actually, 1% of our annual profits is around £350-400K ...

We will earn much more from this deal, especially considering his popularity in Asia ...

The way a football club sells more merchandise is by winning trophies, not by getting a basketball player to wear a shirt

If a team gets into a big final the game is shown live for 2 hours all over the World watched by football fan

Having Lebron wear an LFC shirt after a basketball game will sell some shirts but not a lot, most of the people who are watching couldn't give a dam about football and will buy a basketball shirt first

If Gerrard did an interview in a Red Sox shirt how many Liverpool fans would buy one, a few but not a lot

The real question is: If Messi did an interview in a Red Sox shirt, how many football fans worldwide would buy one ?

many celebrities do this in the states, you have Jay-Z who owns prolly less than a percent of the NJ Nets (soon to be Brooklyn), its nothing serious, and its not a problem like your making it out to be....and its not just through wearing T-shirts either, hes been promoting Liverpool through his twitter account which has  2.5million+ followers, he is also the biggest athlete in Asia which is the main point of giving him such a small stake

and lets be clear, (as much as I dislike the guy) Lebron is a much bigger name than Gerrard around the world, so your scenario is flawed

I not trying to make it out to be a problem, it is what it is and he will sell some shirt

But this was not some great marking ploy by FSG using Lebron to sell LFC

LFC have been used by FSG to get Lebrons image rights

I am not saying this is bad for LFC

I love how every time you pop in it's to be negative.

Every dollar that can be earned from doing something should be explored and used if possible. Lebron is a great outlet for advertising, he's a company in himself with how big he is.

I'd rather a star baller have a small part of our club to promote than some random company that no-one gives two shits about, and won't pull in as much money.

ANYWAYS. Love the piccies, and god damn those headphones are nice!! Lucky bas**rds :D
