By saying if only he was good at football clearly indicates you think he is useless!

I'd have any two out Lennon / Young / Nzogbia / Johnson / Mata / Dzsuszack(spelling) / Jarvis. Doubt the likes of Hazard and Sanchez!

I'm sure being able to run fast has plenty of uses.

Well the thought of his pace would force teams to play deeper. That alone can be a threat.

I'm not a fan. He has pace and can dribble but his final ball or decision making is shocking. For the fee it would cost to get him from Spurs, I'd much rather get Ashley Young from Villa.

All he has is pace, but we need a player who can cross.

But you said if only he was good at football??

Being fast and being no good is pointless. But anyway, what you are saying is ridiculous so I'll ignore it.

He is a good player who started for England at the World Cup, can terrorize defenders and has in my opinion improved his final delivery.

Would prefer either Young or Nzgobia over him and possibly could get either for less money.

In your opinion of course Glynn. IMO he has pace, but other than that nothing worthy of note.

Ryan Babel had pace. If only he was good at football!

I think I'd rather Ryan Babel to Lennon! I think all around he was a better footballer and plus the fact that Lennon is english will make him waaaaaaaaaay over-priced!!

PGlynn, I don't think there's much point taking issue with Fields, whether you believe that he meant useless or not, it's not like he'd be alone in the opinion!

      Awful article. Pure speclation.

On Lennon I may be alone here but have never really rated him and think he is very over rated as he has pace but his end product isn't that great.

Better wide player than we have but there are much better out there.

No thanks would be a waste of money, has loads of pace. His final ball is useless and very rare can pass more then 2 players with the ball.

Rather Adam Johnson. He has pace to go with better dribbling and a superb cross. Lennon has very little in his armory when you overlook his pace.

His pace is frightening, his end product is laughable.
      No ta.

Reds to offer player plus cash for Spurs winger
      7th May 2011 - Transfer Gossip
      17 CommentsEmailPrintShare ArchiveLFC To Go
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon after reports suggested that the England winger had fallen out with White Hart Lane boss Harry Redknapp.

The speedy wide man may now be made available by the North London side who may need to sell players to help balance the books as they look likely to miss out Champions League football next term.

Kenny Dalglish is looking to add more natural width and has been linked with a number of prospective winger purchases and was previously linked with interest in Aston Villa stars Ashley Young and Stewart Downing, among others.

The Anfield boss may also be willing to offer Joe Cole as a make-weight in any offer for £15m rated 24 year old. Redknapp has reportedly been disappointed with the inconsistent performances from Aaron Lennon and the pint sized wide-man angered his boss with comments he posted on Twitter following his late pulling out of the first leg of Tottenham's Champions League tie with Real Madrid, an incident that the former Leeds United man felt he was being made a scapegoat for the heavy defeat that followed.

Having signed Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll in January the Merseyside club is now looking for more creative attacking weapons to help provide ammunition for their strike-force.

Lennon is just one of many Tottenham players that Redknapp is apparently considering cashing in on and the likes of Robbie Keane, David Bentley, Jamie O'Hara, Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar have all been strongly linked with moves away from White Hart Lane this summer.

Cole + 5-10m in exchange? I'd accept that. He wouldn't start in my first XI but Kenny and Clarke might be able to work on him and make him worth it. He won't be on 90k a week and constantly injured so the transfer fee may pay for itself by getting rid of Joe and at least and a good option on the bench.

      I don't think he's that bad actually.

His end product is getting better, he can beat a man and he has pace.

We are pretty damn short in the latter two of those.

Would prefer Matt Jarvis if he would be bought as a back-up winger, although he would tempt me purely because of his pace. We've lacked lightning pace on the wings for so long...

Don't rate him myself all he has going for him is pace, lacks a final ball and does not possess a football brain.
