      Murder inquiry extended to Europe

Detectives hunting two men wanted in connection with the murder of a father-of-one have extended their search to the continent.

Tommy Harrison, 29, was stabbed in the chest shortly after leaving a family birthday party in Huyton, Merseyside.

Officers are still looking for Kevin Keegan Corke, 31, and Carl Anthony Taylor, 20, who disappeared after the attack in the early hours of 5 August.

Merseyside Police released pictures of the pair on Monday.

A spokeswoman said: "Officers have visited a number of locations in the search for Corke and Taylor.

"This has followed intelligence which suggested they may be in the south of England or in north Wales.

"We have also been in contact with ports and approached Interpol for their assistance."

Mr Harrison was returning from a family party

Det Ch Insp Martin Andrew, leading the investigation, said one man had already been arrested in connection with the murder of Mr Harrison.

He was charged with possession of an imitation gun.

He added: "We are anxious to trace a number of people who may be able to help with inquiries, including Kevin Keegan Corke and Carl Anthony Taylor."

Mr Harrison, a father-of-one, was stabbed three times in the chest as he walked along Edinburgh Drive in the early hours of Sunday 5 August.

Detectives believe he got into an argument with his killer at an 18th birthday party at the St John's social club, Huyton.

He died in Whiston Hospital a short time after the attack.
