Worst Club Badges

Inspired by a comment posted by Neitsab in the 2011/2012 Kits thread, I wondered which football badges you thought were the worst. I'm not talking about the teams that they represent but the actual design.

Here's a few starters :

Too many new football badges these days look like a company logo, and lack the football feeling and tradition.

Yeah that's why the Swindon and Keiserslautern ones stood out for me, they're more like logos.

I wouldn't mind it if the lion's face didn't look deformed. It's just because loads more foreign teams are named after animals, which we're not used to.

You've had me researching the history of the Barnsley crest ! the Griffen on the crest is not a connection with Wales the welsh flag has a dragon on it not a griffen.

I'm having a look now as well     They do look quite similar I have to say.

Indeed it does, is that a bad thing? The club is actually called 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Same goes for 1. FC Köln, 1. FC Nuremberg and 1. FSV Mainz 05. Which brings me to, anyone know why they put that 1 in front of the club names? Always wondered about that.

I hate my nations emblem and what frustrates me even more is that inside of the collar of the kits we have a sick emblem that we don't use as our badge!

The DTOM design is great, take the Swoosh(tm) out and you've got a cool crest there.

Yeah, well Wales has a Dragon not a Griffon (Griffin?) but that Barnsley one does look very much like it so not sure why they would have one. Could go check on their website I suppose but can't be arsed....sorry.

Harsh!! That's my local team! well kinda, has been the last few years! Last year, my bedroom window overlooked Terryland Park. We useta mess around in FIFA in that ground that whenever the ball went wide or ove rthe bar, that it would end up in my back garden

I have prepared a list for me. All writings include my own opinion. Of course, you might not agree with me on some logos, but I think these badges, logos are really bad.

10 - Columbus Crew



Okay, you are working people, okay the team's title is "Most hardworking team of US", but what is this? The logo is like advertisements of financial corporations seeking new workers to hire at Human Resources pages of journals. What are those really awful hats? Of course, they might think that " Chicago Bulls puts a bull on their image, Minnesota Timberwolves is wolf and Toronto Raptors is dinosaur; so we can put our title, but unfortunately there is huge difference between the logo and the name.

9 - TuS Koblenz



When I saw this logo, I thought that there is a new exam of specialization at medical science for new graduates of faculty of medicine. ( In Turkey, there is an exam like this called TUS). If you say me combine T, U and S, I guess I can reach this logo at 356,764th attempt.

8 - Porto



This style is seen generally in Spanish and Portuguese teams. When you put a crown above the badge, you can guess what country this team belongs. But, when you do this like the way Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, Real Betis do; they seem pretty good. But Porto is not. This logo strains my eyes. Floating leaves, castle ramparts, dragon above the crown, medal at the bottom, handworks on the ball, heart in the middle... Besides the colour of dragon changes in many drawings because ,you know, green is colour of Porto's rival, Sporting. There are a lot of people like this logo but I think it's too complicated. This is not a Salvador Dali's painting.

7 - Red Bull Salzburg



When The Bayer company put their image on the Leverkusen's logo, there is no problem; it's still nice. However, this does not mean that every sposored logo is beautiful. When you make a logo that is copy of NBA Action in the middle of Europe Football, I put this logo at 7th place:) Another team of that company in USA, you know, New York Red Bull. However, They saw a logo like Columbus Crew, so Red Bull is normal in USA but not in the Europe The logic is absurd. Two bulls butting the ball. What a creativeness.

6 - Hamburger SV

If I did not saw HSV's logo ever, when you show me two pictures one is this logo another is a picture of a hamburger, I would choose the second one is HSV's logo. This is like a flag of a new republic from Africa or Antilles.

5 - Dunfermline Athletic FC



When I look at this logo, I understand that, footballers of this club are vampire. This is like a movie poster of "The House on the Haunted Hill". D.A.F.C... Deadly Assassins FC

I remember in my schools days, I'd always draw the LFC crest on my books and folder. The current one would be much harder to draw than the one we had back then but can you imagine kids now trying to draw some of those in the previous post?

And what the f... is that Hamburger SV logo all about??

A bit harsh on the Barnsley one, at least it's probably representative of the town and local community, eg mineworkers and glassworkers.

A proper old school football badge, not like some of the cosmopolitan sellouts these days.

I have no problem with a swipe at the 'flying Elvis' logo, but the Pat Patriot one is an absolute classic! Up there with the Raiders logo if you ask me.

Just looks like a circus to me - not sure of the significance of an elephant to Coventry either. To top it off, the bird on the right looks sh*te.
