Yeah maybe.. honestly I don't watch the French league so it's been quite a long time since I saw Cissokho for the last time. I was just pointing out that maybe there's a little bit of overreaction about this player, people jumping on the bandwagon as a few fans kept mentioning his name.

He would probably be a good signing anyway, Milan wanted him a few seasons back as well (he failed his medical there if I'm not mistaken)

I've watched a few Lyon games. Not enough to determine if he's the solution to our left back conundrum, mind you, but I do think he is one of the better ones I have come across at his position. Too bad the French have so many left backs ahead of him already.

I do like his stamina. From the games I've watched, he rarely seems to tire. He may not be the best offensively or defensively, but he's solid in both aspects I feel. I agree with chats. Not other better options out there, in my opinion.

Probably just in case Pepe leaves. Always nice to have an option if the worst did happen. Although Reina is better then Lloris.

If Reina leaves we have to sign De Gea or Neueur

Very unlikely IMO. Neuer is Bayern Munich bound and De Gea looks set to go to United.

Neuer is anything but Munich bound. The Bayern fans dont want him and have called for the owner to keep Hans Jorg Butt. That might or might not stop them pursuing him though.

Lloris better at positioning and dealing with crosses, Reina better at everything else IMO.

edit: To keep on topic, Aly Cissokho is awesome :D

To go back off topic, Lloris is not that good in the air.

No, but I'd say Pepe is worse.  Akinfeev is a monster in the air, we should get him if the inevitable happens.  He started to look really confident last season but since Xavi Valero left (I'm not saying this is the cause of it) he seems to have gone back to his old way of flapping at crosses and misjudging them horribly.  Don't get me wrong, the other aspects of his game more than make up for his perceived failure at dealing with crosses but I'd say Lloris shades him in that regard if only slightly.  Lloris' positioning however, is exemplary while Reina's is good, I'd probably rate Lloris as the best in the world at positioning.

Back on topic again: I wish Neitsab was the OL manager and would give us Cissokho for free :D

      Hope we don't sign Lloris.

      Over rated, flappy, flappy keeper.

Reina dominates on crosses far better despite some shady moments this season.

Liverpool make Lyon defender top target

      http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Liverpool-transfer-news-Lyon-defender-Aly-Cissokho-new-target-after-Newcastle-United-value-Jose-Enrique-at-15million-article744353.html

Liverpool have stepped up their interest in Lyon left-back Aly Cissokho.

Newcastle’s Jose Enrique was the No.1 target for manager Kenny Dalglish and Reds director of football Damien Comolli.

But they are baulking at the Toon’s £15million valuation of a player who is in the last year of his contract.

Liverpool have now moved Cissokho to the top of their wanted list, with Celtic’s Emilio Izaguirre behind him.

Finally, a top top left-back, who has just finished the best season of his career and is a Liverpool fan. He's a perfect match!
I doubt we'd be put off by his price, we're after the best young players available, aren't we?

How many 'top targets' have we got?

On a plus note though, hope this happens. We shouldn't be paying £15m for a LB with a year left on his contract and Baines isn't going to come to us.
