I do as well rumour is the club doesnt see it as priority at the moment. Maybe they dont want to spend big on a left back with robinson emerging

If we can get a truly quality LB, buy him, if not, why waste £12m+?

How many people have actually seen Cissokho play?

      Me. He's brilliant.

Knew I shouldn't have got my hopes up over this.

I now think that this deal could be put to the back of the burner as I feel Kenny will see how Insua has matured in the last 12 months.

The lad might be better and saves £13m. If he doesnt fill Kenny with confidence then I can see us going for Cissokho last week of August.

If anyone can improve Insua defensively then it's Steve Clarke. His attacking side is very very good.

Aurelio is a good a back up as any team in the league.

Got a feeling, unfortunately, that we're done bringing players in this summer. Hope I'm wrong though.

Cissokho is a really good player but 10m+ for a lb? When we already have Jonno and Robinson there plus Inua? Cmon, spend the money on a centre back and/or forward first

Johnson went for 17 M. Alves for almost 30. Cissokho is a modern fullback, pacy, good technique, good crosser. He has a great left foot, and good left backs are rare. I would be thrilled with that price.

I think we might bring one or two more in, but will wait until we've offloaded the deadwood.

no mate Camolli has stated in his Interview that Maximum part of signings has been done and he is right, for example if we 'd targeted 6 players then we have already signed 4 so he can say majority of signing are done.. IMO we will get LB ans CB at least.

i wouldn't be too unhappy tbh if Johnson was the leb this season with insua back-up and Kelly down the right with flanno and Robinson as back-up... i would prefer to get in an experienced quality left back obv

If we were to sign Cissokho then i would expect Insua to be back up. Robinson would prob get a few games but hes not quite ready to be thrown in at the deep end just yet. I think we can take Aurelio out of the picture, he may get a few games but his injurys are to frequent to be relyed upon. Aurelio can play left midfield and Defencive midfield aswell, so we have options.

I'm not having a dig at Kelly, but can we really rely on him for the full season? Still too soon imo.. Johnno should deffo be in his favoured right.. ? We need to buy a left back and this lad would have been perfect... *sighs*

Aside from that, it's not uncommon for clubs to say one thing but do another.

Echo has just mention this "LIVERPOOL FC remain in the hunt for a left-back but Lyon’s Aly Cissokho is unlikely to be filling the void at Anfield" about Cissokho the rest 3 pages are completely off topic  :f_steam:

      Cissokho: No bid from Liverpool

....Lyon have told Liverpool that if they want Aly Cissokho then they need to make a bid.

The French giants have confirmed that despite intense speculation, Liverpool have not made an offer for the highly-rated left-back.

The 23-year-old French international has admitted he would like to make the move to England - but a deal does not appear imminent.

Bernard Lacombe, who is special advisor to president Jean-Michel Aulas and one of the power brokers behind the scenes at Lyon, says no offer has been made.

"If Liverpool is attracted in Cissokho, they have to come to us," he told L'Equipe.

      No big deals
Lacombe did confirm that Lyon were no longer in a position to pay big fees for players, which ruled them out of the running for in-demand Sochaux forward Marvin Martin.

"He is between €10 and €14 million, it is useless. I had a few phone calls with his agent," he said.

"He told me the player is attracted to join us. But with such a fee, we don't have the right means. Yes, it is frustrating.

"It is the same with Nicolas Nkoulou, who joined Marseille. It was very close. We made efforts to match the l'OM offer but we couldn't."

Sounds like Lyon are trying to get us to cash in on him.

This should surely prove that Cissokho is up for sale if a bid comes in. I'm not normally one for going in low with offers in case teams get pissed off but in this case, Cissokho's value could possibly be quite low so maybe a £8-9m bid could start the ball rolling? I honestly don't think there is better value for money in the left back market right now.

Him or Pereira and I'm a happy man. Also add Ansaldi to that list.

We badly need a left back though!
