I love rap. Grew up in the "hood" out here in San Diego. It was all I listened to when I was a kid :)

My personal favorites have been Camp Lo. They have a style that no one else has. I also love the Roots and ATCQ.

The below is probably their most popular track.
      Camp Lo - Lucini

The beat to this one is amazing. So smooth.

I think me and you have different meanings of freestyle. I'm not talking about freestly where you go off the top of your head.

Went to go see R.A. The Rugged Man, Murs and 9th Wonder on Thursday night and it was legendary!  Got to hang out with Murs and R.A. but 9th Wonder missed his flight so Murs/R.A. just deejayed their own act.  Both were absolute champs, willing to have a chat, sign CDs/shirts and take photos.

edit: I'm still not too sure where Friday went after that gig but I have it on good authority that it did indeed happen and not some elaborate prank which involved the entire world tricking me into thinking Friday didn't happen.

Really over the commercial Hip-hop/rap that is being thrown about.

I think it is at its all time low personally.

I like anything from Immortal Technique, Diabolic and La Coka Nostra.

That is hip hop with meaning not sh*t like "call me Fred Flinstone coz I can make your bed rock"

Anybody have any suggestions for what I like to describe "angry hip/hop rap" something that you would get pumped too at the gym??

I think Tyler can spit bars, and plus what a cool ass name "Tyler, the Creator". He is a pretty weird mofo but F**k it so am I, who isn't? I like his dont give a sh*t attitude. Earl Sweatshirt is pretty good as well

Some of Odd Future's stuff can be extremely offensive, Tyler and Earl especially. But if you can handle that then some of their songs are ok. They can be quite original and experimental. And they release alot of music.

      Mellowhype - Cocainkeys

      Earl Sweatshirt - Pigeons

      Domo Genesis - Super Market

Odd Future - Orange Juice (OFWGKTA)

Went in to the HMV in Liverpool 1 yesterday to actually buy a CD and the one I was after had flew off the shelves this week.

Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City by Kendrick Lamar came out on Monday and although pretty unheard of over here it seems he's getting a little bit of a following.

Mainstream I know but the kids from Compton and working with Dr Dre who knows a thing or two.

Like his style and the albums originality.

      Track 2 - bi*ch Don't Kill My Vibe:

I've always found Lil Wayne very likeable, hope he makes a full recovery.

Lil Wayne Gets Hospital Visits From Drake, Birdman
Lil Wayne is getting plenty of support -- and also a few superstar visits -- while he continues to recover from a series of seizures that had the rap star rushed into the hospital, reportedly in "critical condition," on Friday evening.

On Saturday (March 16), Cash Money CEO Birdman was spotted outside of Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles beside a black Cadillac Escalade SUV, as seen in a picture that was posted on TMZ. The gossip site also reported that Weezy received visits from hip-hop heavyweight Drake and NBA star Chris Paul yesterday, who were both separately photographed leaving the hospital.

On Friday evening, TMZ reported that the rapper was "being prepared for his last rites" after suffering from seizures caused by high amounts of codeine in his system. The severity of Wayne's condition was immediately refuted by members of his Young Money camp, including Mack Maine shot back at the website for trying to "kill a man before his time."

Representatives for the rapper confirmed to Billboard that Wayne was recovering. A tweet sent out from Wayne's account shortly after read: "I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love."

A series of supportive tweets from rappers T.I., Snoop Dogg and Jay Electronica folowed throughout the evening.

Some big hitters are putting out new music this year.

Noticed Juelz Santana is putting a lot of mixtapes out this year, used to see a lot of him on the MTV Channels and that but then nothing.

Any of the American lads know what's been going on with him? Why a load of mixtapes and no studio album?

Anyway, get on these. Haven't heard of a lot of these but there are some names on there who I'll be interested to see what they put out.

Again if any of the American lads can tell me any of the names I'm likely to haven't heard of but are getting airplay and good things said over there I'd appreciate it and give them a whirl.

      Big list:

My favourite hip hop song of the year so far this year is this:

      A$AP Rocky - Jodye

From the album, Long. Live. A$AP

Swearing and normal hip hop lyrics so if offended by that type of thing, don't bother.

      Tune:

      ASAP Rocky - Jodye (CDQ)
