I searched for a rap music topic but couldn't find it so if this is a duplicate thread I apologize... I love goin through the "what are you listening to" thread, there's a lot of good music in there from all genres. Just wanted to see how many people were into rap music on here cuz I always like finding new artists to listen to!

Currently I'm listening to this mixtape:
      http://www.datpiff.com/Neako-Loud-Pack-Tree-mixtape.224669.html

      heres some sample tracks
Neako - The Dawn - Loud Pack Tree (NEW MIXTAPE) 2011

NeakO - Higher Than Kanye (Prod. by NeakO)
this one starts with a kinda weird intro, the song really starts around 40 secs in

I've got bored of the genre of late. I like Del the Funky Homosapien though, he has an old school style to him. Quite like Nas as well but full albums can get a bit tiresome.

The Roots are sick, but for some reason I'd never heard that.... really liked it. ?uestlove is an amazing drummer

Yeah I've liked Method Man for years, possibly may all-tine favourite rap artist (well maybe second to John Barnes).

Love this Prodigy remix of his track Release Yo Delf. The original was cool anyway but this version added great atmosphere to the film 187 which had a great soundtrack on the whole :

Method Man- Release Yo Delf (PRODIGY REMIX)

      Full '187' Soundtrack :

      1.    "Slack Hands"                Galliano                      4:46
      2.    "Spying Glass"                Massive Attack              5:20
      3.    "Release Yo' Delf"        Method Man              4:54
      4.    "Stem"                        DJ Shadow              3:25
      5.    "Flipside"                        Everything But the Girl  4:30
      6.    "Karmacoma"                Massive Attack              5:21
      7.    "In November"                Dave Darling              4:28
      8.    "Neither Sing Sing nor Baden Baden"      Bang Bang    5:57
      9.    "Raincry"                        God Within              5:40
      10.    "Pregao"                         Madredeus              4:03
      11.    "The Wilderness"        V Love                      5:16

^ Not exactly a new track though is it.  That being said, Lowkey is F***ing dope, I was so lucky to see him live about two months ago with all proceeds from the gig going to charity.  Best of all the gig was literally two minutes walk from my house :D

My favourite music genre. Listen mostly to Lupe Fiasco, The Game, Drake and Lil Wayne.

Favourite song at the moment, and to me, the most meaningful has to be 'Words I Never Said':

I like that movie, and agree its got a killer soundtrack.

I want to comment on every track posted on here haha but I think that would be a little over the top! But I'm listening to these tracks and enjoying all of them, never heard of lowkey before- I'm not too fluent with overseas rappers to be quite honest. Other than Ryan Babel   ;D

Guru is one of my all-time faves, real sad to see him go just recently.

Feel like I should always post a song on here, this isnt exactly new but I've been feelin it

Judging from some of the posts on here, I'd say the style of hip-hop I listen to is a little less refined, more dirty, gritty, grimy and in your face.  I'll throw some of my personal favourites on here, they're quite old but if you find one new artist who you'd never have heard of before, it'd be worth it...

Vitez - Jean Grae is awesome, and she's not just one of the best female MC's.

Some random tunes I've just been listening to.

Jurassic 5 - Sum Of Us

Blu & Exile - The Narrow Path

She's easily the best female emcee but I still rate her as one of the best emcees male or female, she's fire.  Don't get me wrong I still got a lot of time for the likes of Eternia, Invincible, Psalm One etc and the old school MC Lyte, Lauryn Hill etc but I'm not wasting any time on that horrible Nicki Minaj.

Last few songs on my playlist were:

Joell Ortiz "125 Pt. 1 (The Bio)"

K-Otix - Do You Want To Be An Mc?

Black Star - Twice In a Lifetime

      Last Emperor - Secret Wars

edited to boast that I'm going to see R.A. The Rugged Man live tomorrow night ;D
