Who is that next to Hyppia in the first picture? Henchoz or Meijer?

Either way, a huge difference in quality

      Big Difference.

I used to close my eyes when Henchoz had the ball.
He'd be in my worst 25.

It was interesting to read  how highly Sami regarded RAFA and how much he learned from him. Will always be remembered as a good Liverpool man who never cost us the earth. He could be a future manager of L.F.C. whose heart would be in the right place from the word go.

Totally agree mate and boy how we could do with a Sami at the back for us, one of my all time favourite defenders.

An absolute legend, must be the best bit of business Houllier did - was it £2.5M?

I wish there were more like him out there, but perhaps those were the days when we scouts that knew a thing or two.  I don't think there is anyone in the English game at present with his composure and reading of the game.  Scored a fair few important goals for us too.

Fully in agreement guys, going forward Sami would offer us plenty in some coaching capacity,he has a good head on him and reads the game very well,it's no wonder Rafa wanted him to come on board at coaching level with the first team.

I think we will one day see Sami Hyppia again.

Sami is a one of a kind footballer. Bought for a lowly fee as an unknown, played really well and later became a legend at a club, never sold for an extortionate fee, Sami gave his best years of his football life at our club. We were lucky to have Sami and an honour in the end.

Can't think of any other player in English football to have proved to be such a bargain and worth so much more than what they were actually signed for. Literally gave 100% for the club and then some, if only we still had him at the club and excelling in that defence! Such a contrast when you compare him with Skrtel, you wouldn't see Sami getting dominated by Oldham for 90 minutes!

I think the only time we'll Sami again is if he's manager of Liverpool Football Club. He's doing a terrific job with Leverkusen. I'm not sure he'd want to scale back from management to being just a coach. (Though we could definitely use his defense knowledge!)

What an absolute legend, I think you'll never find a Liverpool fan who has anything negative to say about this man. Love to see him doing well as a manager, hopefully he'll have a long and successful career in this position... who knows, maybe with LFC?

He's gonna be at Leverkusen for some time, hopefully he can build on this great season for them. Is Sami the next big young manager?

      Echoing that sentiment.

A top top man is Sami. Carra and Sami for defensive coaches?. Now that would be something else.

Saw an interview some time ago and when Sami was asked about returning to LFC in some capacity he said there was nothing he would like better.
      Only a matter of time.
Best of luck big man, see ya soon.

If that's how you'd put it.

      Assistant manager anyone?

Exactly. No way Hyypia returns for anything less when he's just managed Leverkusen into a CL place.

Imagine a backroom staff consisting of Carra, Stevie and Hyypia, now that would be a formidable trio to have by your side.
