We held the record on our own for 33 years since the war.  Assuming they win the league it will be the first year they have held the record on their own in their history.

I'm a reasonable man.  If they hold the record until 2035 (34 years) I'm prepared to hold my hands up and admit they were better than us.

I feel strangely calm right now. I guess its as i said before, the realization dawned on me a long time ago so it aint a surprise, rather just the trigger finally pulled after a gun being held to the head after a long drawn out process.

But the difference is, we are still alive. Alive? Hell we are F***ing alive and kicking it strong! I know that Kenny sat there seeing those scenes of celebration and he will have been furious. He, more than any, wants us back to the top. Thats whats great about having him in charge, we have someone who aint just doing a job - they are doing what they were meant to do, born to do. He was made for Liverpool. And he will make sure in no uncertain terms to every player we have, and every player we get in the near future, how important this is. And i feel comforted by the fact that although they have the record, we are the ones on the up.

Can you imagine Shankly, Paisley, Fagin or Kenny, ever carry on like old slurguson does at refs, the media, the F.A. or any one else who doesn't buy into his  " I'm supreme and you will worship me" ethos. No of course not, not even close.  And there you have it. No class, no integrity and certainly no respect for any one, or anything, out side of his tiny little world.
Would mean a lot more if he won something with a bit more respect to anyone outside of old toilet. We are on the way back from a frightening couple of years and now we are on a level footing, we will do it all the Liverpool way. With humility and style. You can't buy that and you certainly can't breed it. It comes from within, that's why the mancs will never have it.

Bingo! That's what most ManU fans won't understand. All LFC fans would be standing on a ledge right now if those three you mentioned were still here.  Instead, we're happy as a lark that we've survived and are planning ahead to OUR next titles.

See the state of them as well. Those 19 on pieces of paper looked pathetic and that shiny banner near the top of the bottom tier looked F***ing sh*te.
