Good move for Cole and for LFC ... And if we get some sort of a concession over Eden Hazard through this deal, even better ...

Best of luck to the guy. I like him, he tried his best but injuries and he just wasn't up to the standard. Good luck to him, YNWA

It just seems kinda stupid really. What if, say, Downing and Henderson both got injured? Then we're seriously short...

A sale would make sense with the intention of replacing. But to loan out...

the lad's on serious money and it's clear he's not gonna play so the club has just as well pay half his wages rather than all of them.

Had high hopes for Joe when he signed (as I'm sure most did), but for one reason or another he just never made the grade.

      See ye in a year.

We still have Gerrard, Kuyt, Meireles, Shelvey, Maxi, Johnson and the likes of Sterling or even Suso. Any one of them could possibly play in a wider position, though some more suited than others.

Dan Roan (BBC Sports): "Lille's ambition (CL, new stadium) & proximity to London always meant Lille was preferred option for Cole ... Liverpool were also loathe to loan Cole to a PL club ... Lille will also pay a higher proportion of Cole's wages ... Villa was never likely" ...

It's official; Cole will play at LOSC this season.
Hope we sign a quality replacement today; Johnson, Ruiz, Zarate?

We have a good squad but I would like another AM/winger to be signed.

Cole signs Lille deal. Late interest from Villa doesn't sway him. Interesting talk #LFC now have first option on Hazard.

Now that would be a very very astute piece of business to work into the deal. Let's hope it's true.
