Looking more and more like a bad call giving him a extended contract and £200K a week.

Is he really a £200K a week player, one who relies mainly on his running power he is only going to deteriorate from what he excelled at.

Again I'm increasingly coming around to this way of thinking.

I always understood rewarding him for how good he had been for us and everything he has done to drive us to the title but it is really looking like it could be a really bad decision.

      Hendo again wasn't great.
But also again, Fab and Milly were equally as poor, maybe moreso - certainly of the 3, only Hendo finished the game.
      Maybe Klopp has a blindspot.
Or maybe the difference in the 3 lads form is more marginal than people are making out.

I think the whole teams been poor for a while now with only one or two of the players on the pitch getting an average score at best each game.

There’s just no balance at all at the minute, with covid, injuries, form and ageing.

All of the above is highlighting how thin our squad is, if a player is tired/out of form they are forced to play through it instead of being dropped and resting/fighting for their spot.

Even with everyone back we are 3-4 players short of a Prem winning team. Sure we have most the same players who won it last time, but a few of those have entered the latter stages, or completely left their prime.

I think a lot of fans wanted him to have an extension out of fear that he won't be replaced.

I believe that his leadership earned him that salary. I'm not fussed about his wage. Come on Jordan.

Off form but so is our whole midfield, not going to single out the skipper...

      Jordan will turn it around.

Count on one hands the good games he's had this season.

A huge concern for me as he will always get picked.

Last three games has seen a dramatic drop in form.

Put together an off form Hendo and a tired Milner with  front three that no Salah and Mane, against a strong and on good form Arsenal is calling for problem.
Sure our team now not at top condition but it's Klopp that making it worse.

Yep. He was playing well earlier in the season. Has just hit a bad spell. Not a major worry for me, his form will come back. Our problem is our shortage of creative MFs and wide men (well our shortage of the latter, and injury proneness of the former). Hendo, Milly and Fab are all still solid and basically reliable, but if you feel you have to play all 3 of them at once (even against 10 men!) clearly you don't believe you have creative players of a similar quality that you can rely on.

After criticising him after Thursday he was my MOTM today.

Much better performance and recycling the ball well and also got forward a decent amount of times as well.

Hopefully a sign of him getting out of that dreadful run of form.

Is it time to replace our captain at the end of the year?

If so who would be in line for the arm band? Virgil? Ali?

He'll still be here next season so will be club captain.

Milner likely to be gone and for me Andy Robertson is next in line to join the 'captain's group' but Virgil will be ever present so will skipper the side of Hendo doesn't play.

Henderson's has been better in recent games but faded badly as this game went on again today. It's an issue and has been all season but it's not an issue that will lead to him leaving or losing the captaincy.

The armband is overrated anyway and not as important as people think.

Shouldn't the club captain be on the field? Not much use, in game, for a captain on the bench.

I think his time as a starter has ended but he'll see out the season.

Then someone else will captain the team when that happens?

Pretty sure I had that in my post?

No not on captaincy alone. A captain should be no different to any other player if consistently not playing well and others can step in, they should be given the chance

You did. What I meant was if a captain is consistently not starting shouldn't the armband be passed to someone who is? That's always been the way from what I remember.

      That will happen naturally.

If he's here next season, and he will be, he'll be club captain for next season at the very least

No way Jürgen changes that in the short term.

If he hardly starts next season then the following one likely the armband would permanently move.

Thought he was poor again today. Had a lot of poor games this season to be honest.
