Not forgetting he probably stays in the England squad now.

For Henderson that's the key driver in all this.

I see the talk now is that he deferred his wages to avoid UK tax.
Presumably why he is moving to an EU team and not the PL.

He'll get paid eventually and at less tax.

Look, my admiration for the fella is well documented, and he will remain in legendary status for what he done for the club, however, that’s part and parcel of our illustrious history now and what he does from on now is not for me our concern, having said that I do wish him well and perhaps one day we’ll see him in our club colours play in a legends match, for now though, good luck Hendo .

He’s walking alone with some of you lot. 😂

Two and a half year deal is great for him given his age.

He will never walk alone mate. There may be like you like to put it  some snowflakes, but his time will always be remembered.   If anything I will pack my bags and walk with him.  :f_whistle:

I agree his time on the pitch is what he should be remembered for and not what he's done off it. His legacy has been tarnished though and a few of you lot don't forgive him.

Before the season started, midfielder wise, I'd have moved on AOC, Keita, Milly and Thiago - but never expected Hendo and Fab to both go too.
So don't agree with anyone saying 'everyone' wanted shot of him.
Was disappointed he wasn't going to stay and pass on his experience, and thought he could still 'do a job' - though as it turned out we've managed pretty damn well.
OK we got 12mill in for him, which was good - but he chose to head off, instead of fight for a place.
The guff about growing the league in Saudi and all that bollox - he went for the cash - so spouting the other reasons was annoying, and even after all the rainbow races stuff etc.
Don't feel sorry for him - what the heck did he expect going there?!  And now can't even stick out a full season !!
We're doing fine without him, and not really arsed about whatever is said about it, he's basically made his bed.
And though have great memories of Hendo being at the club, raising the PL etc, and he was a very good servant, he has deffo taken the sheen of his legacy in the club/game.
Still not finished though, will likely get another club, so has a chapter or two left to write.

Him going to Saudi has "tarnished his legacy" but not the legacy of his manager in saudi arabia. Funny how selective ppl are. :lmao:

One of them was an employee (captain) at the club, and on being told he wouldn't be guaranteed a start in the team, quit the club and jibbed it to $audi. The other (legend) had already left the club, and so it doesn't generate as much resentment.

Luckily we have the ability to go back to past posts and see what people were really saying about him during last season. Reinventing history with the "he abandoned us" narrative doesn't quite work.

      SIGNED FOR AJAX.

      https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68010255

"We wanted an experienced midfielder with leadership qualities," said Ajax boss John van 't Schip.

"Partially due to injuries in the team, we were looking for someone who could step in immediately. Jordan Henderson is that type of player."

Henderson began his career at hometown club Sunderland before joining Liverpool in 2011 in a deal reported to be worth £20m.

He played 492 times for the Reds, scoring 33 goals and registering 57 assists, and won seven major trophies with the club.

Van 't Schip added: "His arrival means a huge enhancement for our squad. Both on and off the pitch, a football player of this calibre is important for our many young players.

"He's an English international player and has won the Champions League and many other prizes with Liverpool. I am happy he's here, and I think it's very good for our club."

That's a pretty mad stat when you think of the players who've played for Ajax over the years.
It's a relatively recent phenomenon....we didn't really wear them back in my day, you'd see the odd few, but not like now where it's almost a school uniform.

Good luck to him anyway, he is fortunate to have been signed up, by a club of Ajax's status at a relatively late stage of his career.

Oh I get that mate and don't disagree but even still thinking of the recent players they've had it's mad they Jordan Henderson at his age is the fastest selling shirt the club has ever had.

Why ? He is still a very good player and think he will do well in Holland - not sure why it’s desperate

Don't agree with Diego's assessment on them being desperate but also I'm not convinced how good a player Jordan is at this stage of his career.

He is good imo to do well in the Dutch league and prob a lower level Prem

From watching him when he plays for England - I don’t think he would be the sort of player that would be good for a high energy press team but for Dutch league I think he still has the legs for a couple years to do well there.
