Didn't know that at all, which speaks volumes about Jordan's character. Hope his dad is on the mend.

I kept my cancer battle a secret from Jordan
Jordan Henderson's father has revealed how he kept his cancer diagnosis a secret to avoid affecting his son's on field performances.
Brian Henderson 59, from Sunderland was told he had the disease last November but he delayed breaking the news to his son during a vital part of the season, as LFC launched their title challenge.

A few years ago many of us would have happily seen him not in the team, where as now, IMO only the WUMS are the ones that wouldn't want him in our team. The rate he has improved over the last few seasons in incredible, Rodgers seems to be bringing out the best in him and he's just getting better and better.

It has got to the stage where I think our team would be significantly worse off without him, even with all the new signings. People say he is the first name on the teamsheet and I can't help but agree with that. There's not a player in our squad that could do the same job half as well as him.

Don't think Jordan is going to enjoy Mario messing up his hair everyday in training.

Had an okay game. Got himself into some fantastic positions, shame he just can't take advantage on those split decision instances.

Not one of his better games but he still showed good game intelligence with his runs into the box just his final decision making let him down slightly.

Agreed I think he should play in a midfield three in front of Stevie and Can/Allen. He has the ability to make intelligent runs in to the box and can score when the opportunity presents itself. He could be a similar player to Ramsey if he is given more licence to roam forward.

Just think he lacks imagination. Other than that he is a superb player. I don't want him higher up though.

Would like to see himself and Can as the two deepest mids in a 4-2-3-1.
Plenty of energy, even for a 4-2-4.

I see him being able to play the role Gerrard is playing now. He has the energy for it and the engine.

                                Henderson

      Sterling             Lallana           Markovic

                     Balotelli           Sturridge

I think Hendo offers much more in the final third than some on here seem to think. He should not be playing as a defensive midfielder. That formation you suggest would get steam rolled by a team with a strong midfield.

He is intelligent going forward imo, makes brilliant runs and passes yes. But for the good of the team we need him deeper. Imo there isn't a player in our squad with as much energy and power as him, so he'd be ideal in front of the back four, just until Can finds his feet and can slot in.

Yes they might well do, but that's the best attacking outfit we have and I reckon going forward we would be more of a force than last year and with our defensive signings that should help us contain teams better.

Shake this one off Hendo because it was a forgettable performance for sure. Get it back on track against Spurs.

Can't agree mate, when Jordan was in SG's shadow his performance was stunted, maybe he was overawed with the situation or whatever but since Stevie dropped back the lad has shone and pressed forward with increasing confidence.
Pulling him back is more than a positional statement rather a description of the effect it would have on his performance, allowing him those forward runs at will is the way to go.
Your opening statement is really all that needs saying.

I thought today beside Sterling he was one of the best players, great bounce back game after his poor showing Monday vs Citeh.
