      How serious is his injury?

Hope, it is not so long. We need his passion for the Madrid return leg. We can cope without him in the league.

He's a major doubt for the West Ham match but not being ruled out entirely is a good sign that the injury isn't too serious - https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-captain-jordan-henderson-major-doubt-a4367131.html.

I would not play him even if he is passed fit. No need to risk him. Being a doubt is a good sign. I hope his hamstring is not that bad.

Yep. People have shut up about him not being good enough. Today (and against West Ham to a lesser degree) showed we miss him leading by example in midfield as well.

(It's between him and De Bruyne as to who is the best midfielder in the league right now. I would have said DeBruyne is the best midfielder in the world the last 3 years, but Hendo is genuinely hard on his heels this season. )

As with the slip season we lost the league, when he was suspended in the last few matches. We might have won it.

Maybe some will now realise just how much defensive work Henderson does.

Not only does he nail down the right flank, covering behind TAA, he also helps Fabinho by covering his right, as Gini does on the left.

If Henderson wasn't injured, Fabinho wouldn't look half as exposed and would be more comfortable playing himself back into form.

Our midfield 3 requires exceptional discipline, and we just don't have that at the moment.

Out of interest do you think Gini is as integral to this discipline as Hendo? Because it will get to a point where both of them just won't be able to start every big game together.

Yes, he is, which is why I said so in my previous post.

There will be games when we don't need to be as tight, and that's where rotation comes in.

As the other MF players become more rounded, they will also improve in this aspect.

Last night we repeatedly saw Lallana leaving the wide area and coming central, even though Fabinho was there, which left our flank exposed.

We have Henderson, Gini, Milner and Keita who can all perform that way when required, with Henderson and (to a lesser extent) Milner and Gini also able to play the holding role, which for us is not a high intensity position.

its worth going back and reading through his thread some of the comments about him were just disgusting. He has been here 9 years this year he has always given everything he can and done what Jürgen had asked him to do even though it wasn't his preferred position. CL Skipper last season EPL shortly he will deservedly but grudgingly by some become a legend here.
