What makes you proud to be British? (or whatever you are)

I'm Scottish and I'm proud of being Scottish. But I'm also very happy to call myself British and am very proud of the history of the country (of course there are some parts of history which I'm not proud of either). I'm proud of the British sense of humour most of all!

It's the varieties of humour that's great in this country, from the macabre to the mundane.  We do dark humour especially well, although occasionally it does cross the line.

It does cross the line at times with certain individuals but we also do surreal humour the best as well I think ranging from Monty Python to Shooting Stars. Both are brilliant!

Sense of humour is a good one

I know I asked the question but I'm not very patriotic at all so possibly asking what makes people "proud" to be British was phrased wrong

However, it seems the other nationalities of people on this forum are quite proud of being from where they are so hey, maybe what makes us British is being unpatriotic

Like I said, the only thing that really paints my heart Union Jack is the food and football XD

I think they're good for the economy, draw in a shitload of tourism

And they're worth it just to put Aussies and the like in their place
