My old apprentice worked on the build of that car and I've worked on Ott Tanaks WRC version this year.

Don't think it was one of the nicer cars turned out from there, it was a refurbished ex M1 works team shell which had had a hard life previously.

Would be nice if it was, I was talking in Ford rally jargon, the M1 team is the Ford World Rally Team consisting of Petter Solberg and Jari Matti Latvala, the M2 teams are the privateers, Ott Tanak, Evgeny Novikov, Ken Block etc. Although they all run from the same facility in Cumbria they are pretty much separate entities.

I've just bought this little bad boy.

I'm going to put a 2.1 zvh conversion in it.

Which is a CVH cylinder head from a escort or fiesta rs turbo mated up to a bored out 2.0 zetec bottom end, this should be fun ha ha

I don't like them but I must admit they're fun to drive, you can throw them around like Go-Karts. Can't imagine what that will be like when it has a bit of power in it  :D

I can't wait mate, I love doing daft conversions and its been a while, I looked for something out of the ordinary as I don't think this has ever been done on a street ka, plenty of Ka's but after doing lots of searching I can't find any street Ka's that have been done especially as a 2.1 ZVH, this is going to be naughty.

They give decent power but it's a seriously heavy engine for that chassis. My preference for the turbo route would be a 1.6 Zetec SE engine Shawspeed sigma turbo power run

If I was going to go for the 1.6 lump, I'd just got for the 1.6 cvh efi lump from an escort turbo or fiesta turbo.

They're a bit old school for me, prefer playing with the later engines, the first turbo 1.6 Zetec SE I had on the dyno gave 308bhp and 245lbft, engine only weighs around 85kg fully dressed.

Could be a bushing or bearing.
      Go get it checked.

That's what I was thinking. Taking our 4Runner in this Friday to have that very part replaced only on the front left. Started out as a vibration but steadily got worse and now it's a full on hum that drives me crazy (no pun intended). Was going to do it myself but with my work schedule I just don't have the time to do it :(

Hope you get everything sorted and it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg....repair bill on mine will be in the neighborhood of $650.

Cars - They're great when they're working but as soon as they start needing things doing, they're a pain in the bum, hopefully it won't be a big job and neither will the bill  :o

Good luck with sorting yours out hun.

Thanks...you too...I hope mechanics in the UK aren't the crooks they are (or should I say can be) in the US.

      Who's been a busy boy.

Thirsty work all that wet flattening primer so stopped for a couple of pints.

      Base coat on.

      Laquered.

      More wet flattening.

      Power polished/buffed.

      Built back up and complete.
