Must have been sprayed over then mate, i can assure you that all genuine factory whaletails had the black tips. A bit of uselees information for you, only 496 of the 500 RS 500's ever made into onto the road. I wonder where the remaining four are?.

I've never been a big car-boner guy. I prefer gas efficiency and being comfortable. Guess that comes from being poor my whole life and my parents being really cheap :D

That being said, a 67 Camaro SS Convertible would be a car I'd love to buy and work on.

Same here mate. Been in love with that car ever since i saw 'Better off Dead' :D I love older cars, and though im no mechanic, one day i do wanna get hold of an older classic and do it up, learn as i go type thing.

Also, if i was to buy something new - the Holden Maloo utes back home. I love utes, had my own cheaper one and its just so cool to drive. My mate has a V8 6-speed SS as well, drove that and felt like a F***ing god :D

Obviously get it in red though ;)

Under a dust cover more than likely, think I remember Frank Williams getting No 1 of the Clio Williams which has probably never seen the road suspect the same thing happened to the 500.

Ford only actually made 496, that is all that ever rolled off the production line.

From that answer Blood i take it you read Fast Ford magazine?. The Cosworth special edition magazine they brought out to celebrate 20 years of Cosworth did indeed state this, but all hardcore enthusiasts of the car know this is not true. The proof is at Tickford more than anything as it was them that were commisioned to build the cars.

Blood, with all due respect mate I know RS500's inside out and the brand new Motorsport shell I have was bought from my mate Paul Linfoot, who is one of the registrars of the RS500 Owners Club. 500 Cosworths went to Tickford for the 500 conversion, not 496. If you have any queries regarding this matter then please go to his site here - http://www.rs500cosworth.com/2.html and the build list is displayed - all 500 cars were built at Tickford - all 500 of them. It is common thought that the 4 missing models went into storage after the homologation process, a nice little nest egg so to speak for certain people.

A local lad I know from the RSOC has got his Escort Cosworth on ebay, its a beautiful car, I'd probably go as far as saying one of, if not the best example in the UK maybe even Europe, if any of you want to fulfill your teenage kicks.

Think it's a little steep for an opening bid but good luck to him, plenty of good quality Escorts about at present. For me if I was paying top money it would have to be totally original and mint.

When I was really young, I really wanted this car, got it when I was 17 and cruise round feeling bad ass all day long! You wanna see the looks of jealousy I get when I pull up at work, their mouths drop open!

Lets stop the talking and look at the beast!
