U2 are doing a boss job of headlining. Bringing some memories back here.

Noticed some of the lads were talking about it in the TV thread. Thought a thread was in order.

As I said before, loved the scene with all the flares being let off.

U2 have been boss, but still need to go some way to topple The Boss from a couple of years ago, the best headline act at Glasto imo.

U2! What a f**king brilliant set from them! Up there with Bruce Springsteen from two years back for me personally. Their Zoo TV like opening of 4 songs from Achtung Baby was breathtaking. Loved how they brought back the 'Everything you know is wrong' subliminal messaging as well for The Fly. And With Or Without You near the end was spin tingling. It was so excellent that I didn't realise they'd missed out one of my all time favourite U2 songs - City of Blinding Light. If New Years Day and The Unforgettable Fire were added to the setlist that would have been a massive bonus as well.

I don't care what you think of him away from the stage but Bono is the absolute show man. What a frontman, what a show, what a band!

      Over to you Coldplay.

That girl was only about 11 or 12 but the sound of her voice was unbelievable and she wasn't fazed an iota by the huge crowd, she stood there and did her thing.

The new songs were so incredible. I think they sounded better than anything from their last album especially that Charlie Brown song. Incredible! But you can't beat a bit of In My Place live - one of several songs where Chris Martin was drowned out by the crowd!  ;D  Not afraid to say one of the best Glastonbury sets I have ever watched. Loved it from start to finish! Enough to rival Blur and Springsteen from two years back and U2 last night. One of THE live acts you have to see.

COLDPLAY - IN MY PLACE - GLASTONBURY 2011 LIVE HIGH QUALITY HD

Also caught some of Chemical Brothers. Sounded fantastic. Great talent they are. And as were Elbow who were just incredible.

Didn't even watch Beyonce Frankly so can't comment. Not into her music at all but for me Coldplay were easily the best of the headliners and I actually thought U2 had a great set.

Coldplay was just a far superior performance but still not as good as their 2005 headline and nowhere near Bruce Springsteen from a couple of years ago.

I only seen two songs from Chemical Brothers set but it looked like a potential best performance.

Not a fan of Beyonce's music but I know she's an incredible singer and can put on a show. But so can U2 and Coldplay who I am massive fans of. The most incredible live show I have ever seen was U2's Zoo TV Live From Sydney (get the DVD - it'll blow your mind!) and even though they were their slick, brilliant selves on Friday night, I felt Coldplay stole the show for me as well. Their 2002 headlining spot was brilliant (2005 was pretty good as well) but for me last night's was better. Up there to rival Blur and Springsteen two years ago.

None of the headliners this year were my cup of tea so I looked elsewhere.  Quite liked Janelle Monae's set (what I saw of it) and Queens of the stone age.
