Apparently Barca signed him from us a while back. Which leads to the question, what the F**k has happened to Javier?  :mf_bobby:

Don't need spec savers, he made a challenge, you said he never, perhaps you best book an appointment.

They do 2 for 1, be ideal for you and Mick.

He may have made a challenge for the soap in the showers after the game too mate...... I don't call that a challenge either.

Why bring Mick into it, I don't think he has commented on Aquilani's performance ?

Impressed with Flanagan, Cole, Aquilani (at times), Adam and Coady.

Thought it was a decent start. More concentration at the end of both halves and it was an easy 4-0. Hopefully the lads pick that up soon.

And did Carroll score with his foot? ;)

I reckon that that Poulsen goal could add to his value in the transfer market. Reckon we will be looking at £2.55 now.

Have you ever heard of Xavier Mascherano

He's Javier's cleverer older brother, unfortunately he was shot in the back by his friend Eric and now uses a wheelchair

Well you are a bit of a double act think Morecambe and Wise or Reeves and Mortimer.

There are some people on here who just like to stir things up. I've already said that I never saw the match so how am I supposed to comment on how anyone played in it. It's a bit sad but there you go.

Ah the old "guess who misspelled his name" routine. Never fails to raise a chortle. I can barely remember what day it is never mind how to spell peoples names. I did wonder what you were doing when you drew the white beard on, went straight over my head that did. Nice one though, excellent effort.

Mick it was a tongue in cheek Joke fella, the only thing that has stirred anything up is the criticism of Aquilani that he did not merit to be honest.

I'm glad he didn't merit it in your opinion mate, like you I hope he prospers. I'm sure he'll similarly polarise opinions as the season gets on, providing he plays. I'd love to join in myself and I will once I've actually watched it.

The clue is in the bit you chose not to read/highlight ;D. I watched the goals video, so therefore I thought it was Ok to comment on the fifteen seconds of footage which led to the goals. What is it with everyone today, the most simple of posts are provoking all kinds of strange replies. You know when you watch a clip of someone scoring a cracker and you say "f*** me that was a good goal", that's kind of what I did.

Is it national "create a controversy out of absolutely f*** all" day or something?

Granted he did not merit the criticism but nor did his performnce merit praise either. Both sides of the Aqua debate trying one upmanship so early on. I thought Wright was a tad harsh but for me on the first game of pre season he did not deserve a mention to be honest.

Now let me get these splinters out my arse.

I was not able to watch the match. But, could someone please tell me our style of football?
I mean especially in the second half... Were we trying to hoof balls to Carroll's head? Or, was it our pleasant pass and move football?

Don't worry about them quotes mate. It seems Shabs' post has been deleted - wasn't me but I presume it was for off topic stirring?

Anyway, far too early to be analyzing individual performances I thought. Was a good run out in some heavy humidity. Had a nice bit of control on the game throughout but sort of let the guard down a bit in the second half.

The lads who came through our system were impressing me with their effort.

No one-upmanship on my part mate. I thought he didn't try to get involved, floated about and contributed little.

Thats my honest opinion. There were a lot out there trying hard to win a place in the team , for me Aquilani wasn't one of them. Sorry if that upsets people or if people don't agree with me, but thats how I saw it.

I agree they worked their socks off, and showed a lot of skill and determination

IMO it was a decent mix of pass and move and long balls. Just need a few more players to get into the box, which will happen when Suarez comes back.

I've not gone over the top on praise for his performance to be honest, basically called it as I seen it, he played some nice balls into the channels and tried to keep the game flowing, just like Adam.
