      Leicester player collapses
      Aug 28, 2007 10:10:02 pm
Nottingham Forest's Carling Cup tie at home to Leicester was abandoned at half-time after Foxes defender Clive Clarke collapsed in the dressing room.

Paramedics rushed down the tunnel to attend to Clarke shortly after the half-time whistle.

A Leicester spokesman said the player was receiving medical attention in an ambulance and was conscious.

The restart was initially delayed before the referee called off the game, with Forest leading 1-0.

Forest boss Colin Calderwood and Leicester manager Martin Allen then emerged from the tunnel to make an announcement to the crowd.

Calderwood said: "We are afraid that due to the serious illness of a Leicester player both clubs have agreed to postpone the match."

The Reds held a 1-0 lead over their east midlands counterparts courtesy of Junior Agogo's 31st-minute strike.

You really have to wonder about all this.

Is it significant that it is happening at the start of the season?

      Another...Chaswe Nsofwa:

      Quote
On the 29th of August 2007, he died from a sudden heart failure during a training match against Maccabi Beersheba at Vasermil Stadium. Before Magen David Adom paramedics arrived on the scene, he had also swallowed his tongue. Club manager, Marco Balbul, helped pull Nsofwa's tongue back out to which he asked his manager for some air to breath. Forty minutes later, the Magen David Adom brought him to Soroka Medical Center where he was declared dead.[1]

He was part of the Zambian African Nations Cup team in 2002. He was part of the Zambia squad at the 1999 FIFA World Youth Cup in Nigeria.
