No, because Jose Enrique is incredibly over-rated. Why do people think he is such a "better option?" He has not impressed enough at Newcastle as a "body of work" to merit being a "better option" than someone who has been a starring figure in a Copa America victory and a World Cup semi-final berth. And this is from someone who typically criticizes those who latch too much on foreign players (non-Premiership lads) without knowing anything about them... In this case, we know enough about Pereira to know he is at least as good of an option as Enrique.

I doubt Caceras will leave then if he signed for Sevilla.
I agree where you are coming from Devil but Pereira can play anywhere on the left side he is a decent defender aswell as a great attacker and he works like Kuyt does but tbf i havn't seen much of Enrique so i can't judge him.

It's amazing that there's not a team out there that would take a 9m pound gamble on a player with his talent. He'd absolutely destroy the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 and he's already proved himself in Italy not once but twice. When you look at the sh*te that gets bought for stupid money you're honestly telling me no one is prepared to take a punt on AA?

At this moment in time, Enrique, Pereira, I'd just like us to sign somebody so the lad can start some decent training with us in pre-season. Don't want his bedding in time to be the first 5 games of our season, very hard for a player to instantly settle to a new defence. So whoever it is, I do care but would like it to happen sooner rather than later, something tells me though it's going to be nearer the end of the window which would mean us starting with Johnson as left back for the first few games, not a disaster but not ideal either.
