Do we lack leadership?

Suarez is a leader.
I'd also put Lucas into that category.
Not to forget Adam either, perhaps he can be a leader too.
We also have THE best leader in world football. Steven Gerrard.

In a word, no. Lucas, Kuyt and Suarez have shown they are leaders, along with Gerrard, Carra and Pepe.

We lack the winning mentality; if we concede a goal first it often seems that we have already lost the match and often don't win the match.

IMO I believe exactly the opposite. No side in England has our determination and belief to come back from losing, I have so much pride for LFC the fact we have done it so often.

Reina, Carragher, Gerrard, Carroll.  Four leaders there down the spine. They will shout, get stuck in, encourage others to do the same. Thats enough.

Then the performances of Downing, Suarez and Kuyt in particular will also inspire others. They work and work, and work, and work, and that will only rub off on others - chasing down etc.  The kop roars them on and then other players get involved.

A few big hits from lucas will also spur other players on.

Theres different times of leaders. We have four people ready to shout their heads off, 3 players in particular who thrive off working hard for the team, and one little dynamo in the middle ready to boot anybody who comes into our half.

A very good mix.

I can understand why some people are concerned about what happens after stevie, but we have to remember that he is an exceptional leader and an exceptional player, once in a generation kind.

i'm not concerned though. reina, agger (if he can stay fit), suarez and adam all have the potential to lead. personally, i'd hand it straight onto reina, he's got the experience, the respect of everyone (in and out of the club) and the fire in his belly to lead. but there are plenty others waiting in line

we got plenty leaders in the squad,besides gerrard,adam kuyt carra and i can state that agger could be a very influantial captain got lots of balls

i think agger would make a good captain...hes very vocal on the pitch ...everything a captain needs to be !

How can we lack leaders when we have Carra playing complete nonsense

i dont think we lack leaders but one thing i dont like is goalkeepers as captains...although reina is vocal on the pitch and a good leader....in my opinion you need your captain to be in midfield to be most affective !

First of all we lack a CAPITAL letter in the title of the Thread. Done.

Leaders do not have to "get into peoples faces" to be good. They have to lead and not loose there heads.

...Good leaders are invisible, but get the job done.

..No we do not lack leadership, but it could be better.

With Kenny, Stevie, Carra, Dirk and even Lucas taking on more responsibility, we're packed full of leaders.

Pepe Reina would be the ideal leader ,very commanding presence ,the first line of attack and the last line of defence ! yes we do lack leadership imo, with Gerrard out again through injury we need a captain to kick ass when needed and to settle things down when needed ,preventing yellow /red cards ,

Plenty of leaders in our first team, don't see many coming through in the younger generation yet though. Kelly looks like he might have the stature of a leader, anyone who suggests Spearing must be smoking something pretty potent.

Gerrard, Carra, Pepe, Dirk and as has been mentioned we have Downing and Adam for future senior players.
