Agreed, think his going to be very important this year as a back up striker, mainly if the form of Carroll/Suarez drops, who knows we could see a formation with 3 strikers, Carroll down the middle, Kuyt out on the right, Suarez cutting in from the left, could be deadly that.

I'd like to give Adam a run to see if he'll cut the mustard, also i'm a big Shelvey fan, I think he'll will be a big player for us in the coming seasons.

This and the Valencia game is crucial in the build up to the big KO now!! After what seems a very disjointed pre season so far surely we will have a strong starting line up and some decent shape (especially at the back). Give the main players 70 odd mins then bring on the youngsters

Kenny Dalglish is set to call upon the services of a number of senior first-team stars for Monday night's friendly with Valerenga in Norway.

The likes of Pepe Reina, Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger are ready to join new boys Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson on the flight from John Lennon Airport to Oslo later this afternoon having missed Thursday's trip to Galatasaray.

Dalglish confirmed to Liverpoolfc.tv: "Pepe will come with us to Norway and play some part, Glen Johnson should be ready for a game, we think Daniel Agger will be back as well and we will also have Charlie, Jordan and Stewart to play."
