He was amazed by the display, the speed, the video quality and the Swype keyboard mainly.

I would have to agree. loving the Swype.

I have got an Android Samsung Ace. New to Android. It is good compared to other cr@p out there.

Impressed with Swiftkey X as a keyboard application - very good learning app. It learns the new words and also know how we normally use them in a text. Money will spent.

One question. How can I lock my phone manually? I know it has an inbuilt timer but I would like to do it manually.

      Thanks.

Not sure it's the same with all the phones but pressing the power button locks mine.

As an avid iPhone enthusiast, I just thought I'd wander in here and state my approval (so far) of the missus' new Galaxy S II.

Fantastic screen, very quick. Not as smooth or slick as my 4S but looking to be a real contender.  Any useful tips for a first time Android user?

Kinda can't wait till my contract is up.  Got the mytouch 4G.  And with the way the new phones are improving, damn ill be getting a beast.  Think mine is up around semptember.  Hoping they have the 82mps phones out then.

On someone mentioning the HTC edge, only flaw I see with it is the mps on it.  Since tmobile usa plan on having 82mps out by the end of the year.  So it seems it will be outdated in terms of carrier network pretty quick.  I believe the galaxy 2s are already at that carrier network speed.  On the plus though, a quad core will just be beast.

i'm gonna go android very soon. probably this week. going to finally replace my near death iphone 3gs with an HTC sensation XE, the smaller type, don't need those big silly headphones or a gigantic screen as i'm going to be picking up the asus transformer prime, wicked looking tablet with a nice keyboard, should be a good device between the lappy and phone!

Think of getting the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Ice Cream Sandwich on it. Does anyone else have this yet, phone or OS version?

The most interesting thing will be the 1.4GHz quad-core processor. Let's see how the battery copes. The S2's battery was rather poor.

Looks an excellent phone, and I'm sure it will be a great phone, Racer.

Depends how you use the phone. I use Advanced Task Killer which I press before putting the phone down each time to kill background apps. I don't have the screen on full brightness unless it's a really sunny day so it's harder to see and I use the in-built power saving which changes settings when the battery drops to a certain level. Most importantly, I disable background data when I don't need it. For example when I'm at a pc so can check emails / Facebook etc anyway. The battery lasts all day then even if I'm playing Words with Friends or Draw Something half of the day, which is no different to the iPhone.
